I have been playing with cars for over 50 years and have had so many cars i cant remember them all, could be early onset alz as i am 66 years on this planet. what i do know is the 370z i have had for a year and a half ,is one of the most fun ,basic ,no bs machines i have had the pleasure of owning . and none of the bs that follows the ownership of units like carrera, california, cambacorsa ,ect.getting raped after purchas is not my idea of fun .in all my years this the first i have herd of doug and after scanning his vid i find him to be a boring ,***. why does a car have to change every few years to be considered good? tweaking it over 10 years has created a fine machine capable of embarrassing many on a tight road course.f..k doug

Doug's review is more than fair, I actually thought he'd score it a lot worse, since the Z has fallen so far behind modern competition. He knocks on it for how little features it has, but if he consistently does this with all the vehicles he reviews, it'd be stupid if he gave it more points for "being good for the time". He never pretends to be an expert, but he certainly has experience reviewing vehicles.

It's amazing so many of you trash him while also saying "i'll stick to people who know what they're talking about" - why? If anybody listened to experts, none of us would own Z cars.

Ok, back to bashing douche demuro.

For those that gripe about the Z that bought earlier models, ok I can understand. But for those that recently bought, you knew what you were buying and still gripe about being outdated? Why did you buy?

I didn't read this entire thread, but did anyone catch the part where he said there was a "subwoofer where the spare should be, but there's no spare"?

He didn't even bother to look a little deeper/better to see that the sub is mounted to the spare.

Things like this and all the other stuff mentioned in this thread is precisely why I never pay attention to reviewers no matter what it is.

If I want to read reviews on something, I dig up random forums and sites online where actual people like you and me post up our actual experiences with the product. That's where you get your most accurate reviews, not some a$$ clown who thinks he knows what he's talking about and makes a living off of it.

You figure a "professional" review would include research before doing the review. Just so you don't come across like a dumbass. The fact that a few things he said sound like diarrhea. Also, I guess I am one of those true sports car type guys though, I mean, who needs electric seats and sound deadening material because of "road noise", only to spoil the ride by adding weight. Then have "reviewers" complain about the Z being too heavy for a sports car.

There has always been hate by most reviewers on this car. People should make thier own opinion by test driving one before judging on some else's biased diarrhea, erm, review.

Agree 100%.

A true sports car, IMO, would be something raw and without the luxuries. I think Honda did a good job with the s2k CR where even AC was an option.

Some people should stop and think about what it actually takes to develop a brand new car and how much that costs. When you sell more mustangs in one year than Nissan has sold of the 370z since 2009, there is a lot less to invest in future models. Ford can sell enough to invest in a new mustang every 5 years or so. Nissan maybe waiting to make return investment before investing into a new Z.

So? Screw them. Who in this thread holds Nissan stock? If they can't get with it, why do they deserve an excuse and a charity sale?

Eh, in 2008, the car was a $45k vehicle, but now? No way. Not when we have camaros and mustangs absolutely slaying it for much less. Back in 2008, you needed a P car, Cobra, or corvette to tear it up. Even as late as 2014 or so the mustang lacked irs, etc. and the camaro sucked. Now? The Z is just a fanboy car. Nothing wrong with that if you're a fanboy, and thats okay, but it has no curremt selling points from a technical stance.

Sounds like I struck a nerve, not my intent. Purpose of my comparison was simply for sales figures only. The fact that people compare the Z to a muscle car, pony car and SEDAN, is absurd. When you compare apples to apples performance wise and in the same category, the Z is STILL a good buy for what you get. The Z was never intended to be a muscle car equivalent. And if they did, I personally would move on from the Z, and buy a sports car/grand tourer.

The Z at 45k is within several grand of the new Supra...

You maybe right. In 2009, the Z was having 987 Cayman like handling and made more power than a Mustang GT with the 4.6L V8. Back then, Z owners didn't mind comparing the Z to anything with 4 wheels. The Z even won the C&D comparison test against the BMW 135i, Mazda RX-8 and Pontiac Solstice. But time has changed. If there is a new Z in the near future and, once again, handles like a Cayman and makes more horsepower than a V8 muscle car, I am sure Z owners will be posting comparison test results all over the forum again. People just like to compare, especially when they are winning.
