It's the same with almost all technologies. I've got a lot of digital storage media from the 1980s and 1990s - even have the drives to read them - but finding a computer with the proper interface AND drivers would be very difficult, if not impossible, in some cases. It will difficult to find OBD/CAN tools (compatible with today's systems) that far in the future - replacement electronics and sensors will probably be more so.

With today's tech electronics will be hard to come by. But if 3d printers could and it's a reasonable stretch print sensors, boards, and processors it would just take 1 person uploading plans and you can print your parts. Electronics shouldn't be an issue to create cheap for vintage tech.

Not to worried about high tech here.

My main concern is that if my 8 track player ever goes, I’m screwed...

I got boxes of 8 tracks, cassettes, and vinyl in 45 and 33. Plus a couple of 4 tracks, and reel to reel.

Have video cameras in VHS,and Super 8mm.

Vinyl has made a big comeback and it is pricey. No idea what the market for old vinyl is though.

Not to mention vacuum tube amplifiers. A guy I worked with a few years ago swore by them for excellent sound reproduction in music. He bought NOS tubes from different sources around the world.

I still use a tube amp. Way better sound than solid state, but pricey replacing tubes. Also.... it's incredibly loud.

I can easily comprehend what it takes to restore an older , 1970-ish car in the present day, but I just can't imagine someone in the year 2060 trying to accurately restore a Z. (Or any other car, for that matter) With all the electronics and such, it is surely not going to be possible. I just had a ride in my friend's new Lincoln, and the Z seems positively Neanderthal by comparison, as far as technical features. Guess our cars are designed to be scrapped when they get used up.
I some times forget the Z is a modern car.Old school rear wheel sports car.The fact that the Z is somewhat of a throw back is what I love about this car.

I restored a Z31 a few years back and even that has so much crap on it, it made it difficult. Everything these days is modular though....replace the whole box with something else.....

At least the entire HVAC system isn't running off vacuum anymore. That was nightmarish on the Z31.

LOL, troubleshooting the auto air in one was a nightmare. Step one, remove the dash. Been there done that. All of the vacuum lines and 8 or so vacuum solenoids. It was crazy. I worked on one and put a heater core in it.

So was tobacco. That industry is just a shell of it's self now. They bought up other companies and diversified. Most food companies. Big oil is getting into other fields too. They see the writing on the wall. In some euro counties. They have already outlawed gas and diesel vehicles starting in 2030.
