Yeah.. the tech said he got the toe out as far as he could, like he was proud about it. I'm going in at 7am Friday to get this fixed. Apparently standing in the window isn't enough. Maybe this time I'll try standing over his ****ing shoulder.

abm89 07-16-2019 10:51 AM

This is where I'm spoiled by having a race shop near my place.

You have to teach them what you want. Never have I had one that knew exactly what I wanted and how I wanted the car to feel. I always ask for an alignment sheet before the car get's pulled of the rack. But if you tell them to set the toe to dead middle of spec, this will get you about the best street alignment which most of us want.

I haven't heard of it till now. I bought that lifetime alignment from douche-stone and it's right next to my job & casa... but I'm seriously considering writing off that investment. Thanks!

Agreed. It's still annoying that they can't read my mind.. or at least present me w options. Then again it's a Firestone..

They do a lot of track cars and lowered cars. A good amount of Zs and Gs are in there for adjustments and they have pretty good reviews

It likely needs a tune if you don't already have one.

JARblue 07-17-2019 09:47 AM

He just got one

Oh Jeez, that's not good. I don't know enough about tuning to give any opinions. Do you have a way to read your injector duty cycle? I wouldn't think you'd be maxed on running 93 and NA.

Yeah, sent logs to my tuner, he had me do an ecu reset and do logs again. Said it ran fine after... apparently it’s trying to correct for something and slowly pulling fuel over time? It’s only been like 2 months...

He told me to run a pcv delete for a bit and send him a few logs to monitor over some time and see what it does.

You would think the tune would have fixed it:ugh2:

abm89 07-17-2019 02:27 PM

I'm having a hard time figuring out how the PCV system would affect the AFR. Deleted or not, my car has worked fine either way.

ZontheRocks 07-17-2019 02:39 PM

Are the adjustments included in the initial tune price? i.e. $800 for tune and refinements for one year or something similar?

These are the types of issues that worry me when it come to remote tunes and matching up on the street or on another shops dyno.

Then again, I have no experience with tuning.

I think that depends on the tuner. Mine was awesome. If there was something he didn't like or something I didn't like, he went back and fixed it.

Ditto. I had a delete/catch cans but was sick and tired of the ***-gas smell in the bay so I put the nipples back on.

All I know is Moncef from Admin Tuning knows a hell of a lot more than I do about this stuff.

But I cleared and reset the ecu, nothing else, and he said it’s on point again, and the car is apparently making small adjustment after small adjustment to the fuel and eventually (after 6-8 weeks) getting way too lean. But once the cache is cleared and it’s running strictly off his tune again, it’s fine.

So we’ve got to figure out why. The pcv is where he wants to start... I know that blow by can lower your octane levels and make the car do some weird stuff. So maybe it has something to do with that.

As far as touch ups and helping afterwards, he hasn’t charged me a dime. But has always responded same day, and told me to send him logs whenever and he’ll always look at them.

With my previous tuner, everything was covered up to a year, then you had to pay for a retune.

Anyway, gonna try a delete and see what that does. :ugh2:

somebody has an AN adapter for the breather side now as well. Might be Royal Performance but not sure. I saw it on book of faces a few weeks ago so there is a 0% chance of ever finding that post again.

I know sirnixalot would be highly interested in that.

I give them the specs to what I want the car align to. And I stand right at the bay door talking to the guy the whole time. Waving a twenty dollar bill at him.

Should’ve posted my new exhaust pictures here but I guess both threads is ok. XD

Anyway, got the new Tomei and Z1 test pipes on today. No more exhaust leak, but couldn’t hear them even if there were any. This set-up is stupid loud.

Killed it. Or rather had it killed.

I finally installed the yaw-sensor rocker switch modification today. On top of that, I diagnosed the issue with the air-bag light flashing, and the wires for the passenger light connector were yanked out (whoops). So I'll just measure the resistance needed and substitute a resistor for the actual light since fixing that connector is more effort than bypassing it. Quick note about the Yaw sensor switch, If you want to re-enable the sensor, you need to have it in the ON position before starting the car. Otherwise, it wont work or clear itself out.

I have a new fog light I got from Z1 a while back, but I need to re-buy the mounting hardware as I have no idea where it went. (likely the recycling center with the rest of my stock parts.) I have a three-way rocker switch for that one (on-off-flash)

Mounted some PIAA sport horns. Haven’t tried them on the road yet, but I’m definitely loving the sound. Sounds like trumpets instead of sounding like someone farting into a pillow.

Changed my wiper blades, new rain x quantum blades, and filled my reservoir with rain x bug off stuff. Didn’t say on here but about 3 weeks ago I changed my windshield out, no more cracked windshield! (Had been about a year) and safelite replaced it with a fuyao brand which even though it’s chinese, it’s supposed to be really good quality. Also it’s supposed to be much lighter than the stock windshield... I don’t know how much, but every bit counts right? :rofl2:
