Went by body shop, car wont be ready till Friday as they are behind on the work. Just took it in for a polish and wax and have hood painted as previous owner seemed to have driven behind an 18 wheeler for hours and rocks chipped most of the hood.

Finally got around to replacing the upper intake/throttle body gaskets. Catch cans make a difference. Check out the lower manifold runners the first time i did a cleaning after about 70K miles (90k total) with no cans:
https://imgur.com/PWjJ34ml.jpg and this recent one at 114K miles with catch-cans installed for most of the time after. completely clean. https://imgur.com/SyqspX6l.jpg |
Dropped the Z off at the dealer for CSC replacement
Car has about 18K miles. Clutch was feeling a bit inconsistent at times, checked the reservoir and it was almost empty. Dealer confirmed that the clutch fluid was leaking. |
Took mine to the dealer to have brake and clutch fluid flushed and changed. GTR fluid for the clutch. I do this every 2 years. So far, knock wood, still on original CSC at 40K plus. I'm surprised Nissan doesn't recommend this service. When I had my BMW it was required every 2 years. Sold it when it was 10 years old and never had a problem with the clutch or brakes.

Swung by body shop to check on Shakira and was told they are behing and it wont be ready till this Friday. I am losing my patience w this body shop I have used for 20+ years and getting car and taking it somewhere else. i have had the car for 3 weeks since bought and 1.5 weeks there to have the hood repainted and car waxed and polished. Ugh.

Car just hit 21k miles. I've owned it since it had 4 miles lol. I did my first oil change because I was tired going to the stealership :( Felt great! Only issue I had was using these sketchy rhino ramps -_- I had to ghetto rig it with some wood so it wouldn't scratch my bumper.

Check their open box deals page once in a while and you may find a good deal. https://raceramps.com/ramp-category/open-box-deals/ 56" ramps currently on there would be great, but they'll sell fast. I have the 67" XT's and they're perfect. A little wider, and a little more lift. |

Since I got the Z on the road I have gotten unwanted attention.
Today 3 people wanted to race.I have been behaving myself. Best one today was 77 rusty transam.I would bet it still had the 400 200HP motor.Kept trolling me at at ever stop light. He did have a tremendous mullet so I will give him that. |

If he had the chrome valve covers. He had the 240 hp motor. I had 2 '78 Trans Am's. One black auto with T-tops bought brand new, and the other was a red 4 speed stick. :driving: Wish I still had those 2 cars. |

Happening frequently as of late. Everyone wants a piece of the Z. AMGs, Moostangs, Camaros, BMWs, Porches. you name it. A couple actually waited for me in the lot and followed me. It is getting to be entertaining at this point. |

I bought my race ramps from Reverselogic (used to be a vendor here I think). This seller seems to have good prices and carries ramps with 2 stage incline and option for super low approach angle. My lowered 09 Nismo has no problem climbing up the ramps.
I bought this https://www.reverselogic.us/shop.htm...egory=12276141 |
Texted body shop for status of Shakira's hood been painted now for 2 weeks.

Added some LEDs mood lighting to the doors, replaced vanity mirrors w LEDs, installed dash cam, replaced all valve stem caps. Here is the video of mood lighting. It's not that bright in person.

Looks like they're only as bright as the door switches, which is perfect. What's it look like during the day?

My garage has been used as a storage space for my girl and I, along with the parade of contractors who have been coming through during our home remodel... FINALLY cleared enough space to park the Z in there.
Now I just need to clear enough time to change the oil, clean/lube BOV's, change front brake rotors, and finish installing my oil catch cans so I can start daily'ing it again! |
