Ahhh, that's nothing. There are three ridiculous tags mentioning me on this thread alone. :rofl2:

LOL, I have sold mine 15 times in my thread. I get hate all the time.

SeeThruHead 02-17-2022 03:42 PM

I actually did trade it in.

I've been looking for a "mint" or close enough car for a while. I signed for a black 2020 Nismo but they wouldn't do interdealership transfer from Calgary to Toronto so I didn't get that. I was looking at a couple cars for a while now until I found a single owner, no accident sport model. It was non touring which is what I wanted. Only 31k KM. 2018 model. Owned by a Z enthusiast who only drove it in the summer on the weekends.

Yesterday I removed my grounding kit, my password JDM dumb carbon things. And some other minor mods I'd done while waiting for this car and drove to trade it in.

Had them swap the wheels tho. The sport wheels are hideous! Also I have a set of winter tires on my 18's anyway.

Now I'm part of the cool red brakes gang lol
And the car also has some tint, and the paint is in much better condition. And no janky hood gap! It's perfectly lined up.

Well if this is the result, you should be bullied more often! :icon17:

Welcome to the red caliper crew! Nice Z!

abm89 02-17-2022 06:02 PM

did you at least get a cash difference for those Rays?

SeeThruHead 02-17-2022 09:36 PM

I didn't really think about it. I hate them, so I would have had to sell them. And bought new 18s for my sets of tires. Or bought new winter tires and put them on the 19s. Way too much trouble. Especially considering how quickly the deal had to go down, and the shortage of tires and wheels for purchase. Also there's a snowstorm happening right now, so kind of needed the winter tires.

Finally installed my new wheels. Love them!
Lowered on Swift Spec R springs. Front is perfect. Added 1inch adapters to the rear, but they still need some adjustment. If all else fails, I'll incorporate koni yellows.

babyzilla 02-18-2022 01:25 PM

Hey Guys, I tried to do some searching but didn't find the answer I was looking for. I also didn't want to hijack someone else's thread, so I hope this thread is OK to post my question considering it relates to what I just previously posted on here and it is on topic?..

I do not want coilovers and I only do commuting and spirited driving with my Z. I am lowered on Swift Spec R springs. The front came out perfect, but the rear has some negative camber on it. Will an alignment and some toe bolts fix this? The other issue is I rub at high speeds on bumps. This is why I think I need to add the konis. Plus, I heard the Konis with Swift springs is an amazing combo. I figured I could raise the back up slightly since they are adjustable. Will that fix the negative camber or will I still need toe bolts fix that after an alignment? Do I need other suspension hardware? Any input or experience is appreciated.

SLOPOS 02-19-2022 02:29 AM

If you ever have to do that again, grab a rag and pour some gasoline on it - should wipe the vht paint right off without hurting the lenses. Literally wipes right off and leaves you with haze free results. Tinting headlights is such a braindead thing to do - literally working against what they're designed to do lol.

INV_MY_370 02-19-2022 03:29 AM

U think I didnt try this. I tryed break cleaner, acitone, gas, rubbing alcohal, and few other things. I have no clue what was on there. But ot wasnt any old paint out of a spray can.

Yay, no more front plate holes! I'm usually against carbon fiber that adds weight but I couldn't look at the holes anymore and got this used from a forum member for $80 shipped. Used some 3M 300LSE tape and pretty sure it's permanently bonded to the bumper now.

Every time I've ever used after market badges I ended up regretting it - they just never seem to be the same quality and fit as factory badges. Any you can suggest?

JARblue 02-23-2022 08:33 AM

The Z has been in the shop since Christmas. Finally picked it up yesterday. Glad I was able to reschedule today's trip to Dallas for better weather next week.

Been driving a crappy Mitsubishi Mirage G4 5spd lately. First got in the Z and was extremely surprised how unfamiliar it felt. About 1/4 miles and a few gear shifts later it feels like home :driving:

I have the Z logo ones (not Evo R) on the wife's car and they felt like OEM. I will replace mine with the satin silver ones when I don't feel lazy.

Made it a point to go out yesterday for a drive bc you are right - it's COLD in the DFW right now and only going to get worse tonight with ice and whatnot.

FrankEtier 02-23-2022 09:03 AM

Looked at the weather and realized the Z is not moving from garage until Saturday at best.

Just installed OEM illuminated kick plates on my Nismo. I like them a lot. Not too flashy and love the aluminum. Pretty straight forward install but had to remove a few internal panels to pass wiring. The rest was plug and play using supplied t-harness.

I still have a new set in the box. I will get them installed one day. LOL

New AEM fuel pump arrived with a fresh o-ring for the assembly. Going to drop it off at WRR tomorrow as I really don't feel like messing with it. Once that's in we should be able to finish up the flex tune!

What was all that was done? Which pile of parts were able to get thrown on the Z? :driving:

Took the Z to its first track event. Had to be towed off track on the final session. I later found out it was fuel starvation that caused the issues. Fun day never the less.

Note: Dont mind the funky tow hook. I learned at track something was stuck in the tow hook screw preventing me to screw in my stock tow hook. Used a strap instead.

Not a planned visit to the shop. The Z has a new bumper, RH fender and wheel after an ill-advised attempt at off-roading.

Washed my car again today. I parked it on a side street to avoid it getting covered in flung up road slush. It got covered anyway.

Noticed the exhaust has NISMO lettering on the tips. Are the tips interchangeable? (car is a 2018 sport model)

I do too. I got them wrapped black to get rid of the silver and they've been sitting ever since. Maybe when I get my car back this time

Gave the Z a wash yesterday along with my pops and his 350Z. We then attended a Z meet in downtown Orlando at an ACE Cafe. Great turnout and plenty of Zs and GTRs to go around.

Nice to see such a mixed crowd of Z and Nissan enthusiasts.

I keep an eye on Central Florida Z Club on FB or the ACE Cafe Orlando events calendar for the Z meets.

DJ and everything so a fun time with good vibes for sure. I’ll update again the next time I see one.

I'm just the opposite of a Cali-liberal but I hope you didn't really pour your oil down the storm drain. :shakes head:
