See if some store has a thread pitch gauge and get one in metric & SAE. It will save accidentally destroying a bolt... :ugh2:

It was M12 1.25... they all were. Bracket bolts, caliper pine, lug nuts. I got the right tap and die and chased every one of them. Car reassembled like buttah.

B&W_Evader 01-23-2018 02:12 PM

Brakes made a little grind sound last night so I dropped a grand on more stuff. Figured I should have a brake change kit on the shelf at home for when I need it.

Diff Fluids
Trans Fluids
Brake Pads and Rotors
Rear sub frame collars

Keeping Z1 and Tirerack in business.

:hello: Poking my head in... it's been a long while. I'll be getting rid of the Z soon, hopefully.

Time to get out of this 6MT and into something with some bells and whistles (and cargo space - no, not family cargo though, that's not happening), but not as much fun on the butt dyno.

Nice!

I'll be out of town. :/

This long distance relationship stuff is taxing flying so often, haha. Soon enough she'll be out here permanently.

Now I'm starting to have thoughts of, "Man, the new car won't be like the Z. What will I do with my other hand all the time?" :icon17:

How can I have buyers remorse before even ordering the damn thing? lol

Right on! Glad to hear the romance is still going strong. Lol, I hear ya about the Z...I love the car and every now and then I think about all the cars out there and what they have to offer and then I drive mine and think what are they going to provide my Z doesn't and are they really any better. I can tell you after riding in my buddy's 1le Camaro, both at the track and on the street I will take the Z every time. LOL, I just wish it sounded as good as his Camaro. Nothing like a cammed out LS engine with headers.

Today I was particularly annoyed by the fact that sport rays don't have left and right. As if I can see both sides at once... On another note, anyone selling v2 nismo wheels? I want them for my z32.

You got me beat again, I'll be doing some bench racing on my couch. :driving: I'm curious how the new hood vents work compared to your Fujimura hood. Have a great time!

Today I made arrangements with SpecialtyZ for a 4.08 final drive install and getting a final fix on my axle click that I thought I had fixed. The clicking came back with a vengeance. Can't wait for Thursday next week.

Two seasons in for the day and cool temps. The was slick this morning and and took almost 4 laps to warm up. The second session was better as the temp was 68 or so. Oil temps with the new hood vents never move 220ish. I am more than pleased so far!

It was yesterday but... Was drafting a huge van doing 85 and getting 25-30 mpg. Never had someone change lanes so many times to stop me from trying to draft them. Must of been around 15 times in 5 miles. I wasn't even that close behind him.

Haha, nah. I want a sedan. Automatic. All the bells and whistles (esp. adaptive cruise control).

Was first looking at the Subaru Legacy 3.6r Limited, but I am not a fan of the CVT. Then I found some 2017 Audi A4's with low miles, but only 1 prestige trim and that one had a branded title, so FML. The next closest are up near San Fran.

I've also thought about a compact SUV like the Q3 (no ACC anything) or the Infiniti QX30 Premium.

This has been so stressful... 😂

StevenSlice 01-30-2018 10:57 AM

There was a...

Big.. BIG Install day, for only a single day in a borrowed shop.

http://i68.tinypic.com/2q0k6qu.jpg

Front:

Got the Z1 34 Row Oil Cooler installed.
ZSpeed Aluminum Shroud
Extended Studs
Z1 2 Peice Rotors + Lines
Sport Front Calipers
SPL Tie Rods
Megan Racing FUCA
PowerTrix Coils

Rear:
PowerTrix Coils
SPL Camber Arms
SPC Toe Bolts

There was a lot that didnt get done, because either the part failed, like the Sport rear calipers.. So i now have agressive front brakes with worn out DD rear brakes.

The exhaust and smaller maintance things got left out due to time constraints. Started at 11am, got done at midnight, then a 3hr drive home.

So i want to thank a fellow forum member, Eagle, for helping me all day getting it installed.

Theres still a lot more to do, but for now just gotta get the eye balled camber fixed, and little things over time.

StevenSlice 01-30-2018 12:24 PM

Dropped it off to Big Brand to get a basic aligment, our eyeball alignment after installing everything was pretty horrid.

http://i68.tinypic.com/2d7yd88.jpg

Procceedded to rip out the trunk so i could listen for any kind of creaks or pops in the suspension, not to mention so i could adjust the dampening.

Car is "Dialed In" for now. Its gonna see a corner balance once the rest of my laundry list of parts is installed.. Rather not spend money on multiple corner balances if i can avoid it.
