While doing my brakes, I had a couple bolts that were fighting me to come off. They are rather corroded. I don't really want to use an anti seize because I know that can screw up the torque rating. Any thoughts on this? What's best to do?

So I was hoping to have my gears installed, but the shop said they can't get the gears to mesh. I have a suspicion that the guy I bought the diff from sold me an Auto diff and called it a manual.
Does anybody have a picture of an auto differential next to a manual? |

But then again, I may be full of complete crap and you can ignore everything I've stated. :wtf2: |

1. Reuse bolt as is. 2. Chase the threads with a die to clean up. 3. Use a little bit of anti-seize to help the thread. 4. Get a new bolt. I've done all 4 at one point or another in my life. :rofl2: What is the bolt for? Caliper bracket to knuckle? If that is what the bolt is for. And by looking at the head of the bolt. The flank of the face doesn't look to healthy. So I would pick option 4. Because of the flank starting to round off.But I don't know what the rest of the head looks like. |
Finished up my sub box project!

Hmm... looks like one of my rotors is warped a bit. Question is... to go oem, slotted, drilled, both? Any advantages/ disadvantages?

Edit: nm... you said metric grading. |

Looked at it for the first time in two weeks. Contemplating driving it to run a few errands. TBD.

12 mm with a 1.25 pitch. They didn't have any hardened metric bolts so I'll just tap and die this out and hope for the best.

This looks better.

Was 50 degrees here in NYC so I did a vac, wash, clay, compound, and wax... didn't polish, clean the glass, and add sealant because I'm getting old and lazy. Will probably get to it on my next day off.

See if some store has a thread pitch gauge and get one in metric & SAE. It will save accidentally destroying a bolt... :ugh2: |

Drove it hard for nearly 30 minutes trying to forget about the busted pipe in my foundation leaking into the house. It worked as long as I was teetering on the brink of traction. Unfortunately there was too much traffic to really push that threshold on public roads and fuel starve continues to be an issue with over 1/2 tank of gas :shakes head:

Unfortunately, I'm probably looking at spending a hefty chunk of change on a plumber in the coming days to fix a slab leak  |
