Ordered some 25MM H&R Trak spacers and swift springs, and booked an appointment for paint correction and ceramic coating.

Excited to get her cleaned up for the summer.

I got a nail in my tire and didn't notice it was completely flat until I had already gotten onto a busy road so I had to drive on it a couple of blocks to get to the nearest parking lot. I've got to replace the tire but I'm hoping the wheel is ok.

THE BULL 06-17-2021 12:47 PM

Any of you with aftermarket under trays noticed higher bay temps?
I made my own shield, it's flat like older designs, recently I've noticed newer designs have incorporated vents/louvers which should aid in cooling. Wanted to get some input from folks in here.

BettyZ 06-17-2021 09:41 PM

Not particularly but the ZSpeed tray went on a week after I bought the Z. Have a 34 row cooler and when I was N/A temps rarely went above 193. Seemed to stabilize at 187, both coolant and oil.

I noticed that my temps stabilized as well however I think this is because of the closing of the bottom of the bumper by sealing it. However after the radiator the additional heat exchanging seems to have now entered the bay where is hotter than without the tray of course.

I think the louvers/vents of the aftermarket ones help a bit with removing this heat, just wanted to get some ideas. Thank you.

abm89 06-18-2021 10:17 AM

I have the Z1 tray, but I have a vented hood, so, unfortunately, my data will not be of any use.

If I'm moving, I hang around 185F coolant temperature. That's as of this week with 97+ degrees ambient temp. Adding some louvers to your design will help with cooling, so I don't see it hurting anything.

Ben370 06-18-2021 03:24 PM

Changed my coolant, radiator hoses, belt, and tensioner.

Dang, those would look really good on my Black Cherry. I have the new Morimotos ordered, though.

Was going to do a simple wash but then my clay bars arrived via amazon. So I sprayed, foamed, sprayer, hand washed with two buckets, then dried, then ran a clay bar, rinsed the car, polish and waxed it. Was bothered because I did not clay bar it in the beginning of the season when I should have.

Also happy Father's day to you all.

SeeThruHead 06-20-2021 06:07 PM

I would recommend you to polish. Clay should always be followed by a polish as it mars the surface.

That sounds like a lot of work! I pulled my Z out of the garage bc it was raining and considered it washed after 25 minutes. Looks great... I think. :tiphat:

You clay bar because you have nothing better to do with your time. :icon14:

Disassemble my door handles, and did a custom high end carbon wrap. Way better then the stick on carbon overlay you can buy. And even cheeper. And yes I know the weve direction is not consistent.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a14f927d9e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...290bab7d78.jpg

I got my tire replaced yesterday and, thankfully, the wheel was unharmed by driving on a completely flat tire. It's good to be able to accelerate and turn at speed without the spare on there! Now I just need to clean her up a bit.

Detailed (stage 1 polish and ceramic wax) and lowered on swifts w/ 25 MM H&R trak spacers all the way around.

Much better.:icon17:

What wrap product did you use?

Just changed the oil and spark plugs.

Let's see, I need to pick up my test print for the IC-7 and play some Tetris trying to get the wiring and the OEM dash all hooked up cleanly. I'm looking into the Flex Fuel Kit from specialty Z so I can get my tuner to enable the feature on my Tune. The E85 here is probably super inconsistent, so having that will help the car run consistently well. I also had an idea for GT3R style ducting for my front bumper. Currently playing with the model and testing my crappy CAD skills.

But in reality, this is all on hold while I study for an upcoming AWS cert test.

Rusty 06-30-2021 07:22 PM

Got the inside and outside of the Z cleaned today. After putting on 3,700 miles on in 11 days. From Brownsville Pa. To Grand Rapids Mi. To Rawlins Wy. To home. :driving:

Try looking for a distributor for Sunoco gas and racing fuel. Their Re85 is a consistent e85. The cost is surprising reasonable!

I didn't even know that this was a thing for Subie owners! Tbh, I'm a bit behind on current car trends, so there's that.

I had Fiamm trumpets in my NA Miata for that old school Italian flair. I kinda miss them, so when I finally get to installing an oil cooler, I'll probably grab myself a pair for my ZR and put them in while the front fascia is off.

Red Voodoo 07-04-2021 04:19 PM

I forgot to post this a few months back, but I'm proud of it. I used an OEM shifter boot to replace the 7AT plastic shift indicator plate. I also added the manual S-Mode button for future use as a stealthy in-cabin trunk release button (I just need to wire it).

http://www.the370z.com/members/red-v...-fall-2020.jpg

More recently, I had the rear bumper fascia diffuser area wrapped in glossy black vinyl. Nissan should have done this from the beginning on all non-Nismo models.

The EVO-R emblems (front + rear) and debadge was done in June.

Scavenge pumps line are in. Cost of upgrading the BP kit to an oil-lubed, water-cooled turbo setup: $1100 in pump, hoses, and fittings. Not counting the new Boost Lab turbo. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...77b2470479.jpg

Strip washed and waxed with Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic/Graphene Paste Wax

Have to wax after sundown since it's so hot out. Can't wait for the sun tmrw to see what it looks like.

First wax after having all my rock chips fixed last week.

Bought the last Nav DVD like a goofy just in case down the road I want that...OEM touch. Plus the Nav actually has never failed me before on the rare trips I took the Z to places I've never been.

Eh, need to get gas for the map updates. I heard it doesn't literally take 80-90min, but that's gonna be a fun trip.

R1talin 07-11-2021 06:25 PM

Over the last few weekends i installed, Z1 motor mounts/ transmission mount/ subframe collars / solid differential bushings and the motordyne art pipes that finally arrived (after 6 months :) )to mate up to my shockwave exhaust……..
then made an appointment to get an EcuTek tune….

Finally had a chance this weekend to put a couple hundred miles on her…. Al i can say is…what a difference….. she is so solid and the rear end is planted….. loving this setup

Adding for reference, also have a set of fortune auto coil overs that have been on for almost 4 years.

Wifey not home, garage half empty, so it was a good time to try out the seats...

Only to realize touring seats aren't plug and play specifically to 09-10 base/Nismo. My 09 doesn’t come with the 3rd plug for the seat motor!!!!!! I can't adjust the seating position...pwned

All other researches showed plug and play install, but those are 11 and up base cars that generously come with the extra plug (taped up under the seat, unused). Found a post that a guy suffered same fate previously.

I must’ve offended a god somewhere…bad luck continues

First world problem. A pair of red seats sitting in the garage, I decided to just swap them into wife’s 16 Nismo Tech. She’ll get the red 40th seats, then my 09 can get the Recaros.

Passenger side first, buttoned up beautifully. Power seat works great. Then driver side……fcuking missing/no plug for the power seats!!!!!!!!!

Wtf!?!?!?! Being a tech pkg car, i thought it would have the extra plug….my wife even called it last night “hunny with your luck, something is gonna go wrong…”

I can’t accept this. I’ll need a couple hours of pacing back and forth, then admit defeat.

The research I did showed that putting power seats in a Nismo is not plug-n-play. There is a thread in the Interior/Exterior section on how to wire in the seat.

I was only referring to power seating adjustment, not the heating functions. I should’ve clarified.

http://www.the370z.com/370z-sale/125...ml#post3732296

This guy had a 12 Nismo, same body style as my 09, touring seat was a direct swap for him (he commented on it in a different thread, he just needed to add switches for the heating to work, all harnesses were there for him).

And on my wife’s 16, it was a direct swap on the passenger side, but not driver side.

cv129 07-14-2021 08:40 AM

And whoever wanna come take the seats off my hands are welcome to PM me, eye sores!

.

The boot looks even better with an M45 7AT shift knob as it's much smaller and plug and play.

Good idea about the S-button. :iagree: I did the same but use it for my front fog lights.

Tractionless 07-14-2021 11:10 AM

Finally got my K+N intake filters into the bumper fascia for true CAI. While I was able to achieve the same 7* temperature differential between ambient and intake temps. that true CAI owners note and with the system as designed with a couple of tweeks; the intake temps. would go north of 122* when stopped and take way too long to recover, if they did at all (think stop and go driving).

Installed 7AT fluid temp. gauge.
