Actually it sounds like HE chose the Civic to save "$3000" but she wanted a Mazda 6.

"Wife wanted to trade her 2010 Prius with 80k miles for a new car. She preferred a Mazda 6 but because a local Honda dealer was getting rid of new 2015 Civics, got her one, saved about $3k........."
