Default Sooooo.....has anyone build an AWD Z?

I was talking to a colleague at work, and an AWD 350z talk came up, he sad that the 350z awd actually came out verry successful with an automatic transmission, from infinity g35x awd, the bottom of the engine is anderect bolt on to the z and the suspension was basicaly in the right spot for the halfshafts as if it was meant to be together.

My question is can this thing be done to our 370z with infinity g37x awd engine n tranny swap?

Your opinions ladies/gentelmen? Plz make it clean and less bs ty.

how much was the labour/difficulty in installing that on the 350? how'd it change the dynamic? would it be possible on the manual 350?

Labor, just get that outta here, this is a homebrew.

Dynamic, well think of it as a sturdy body, awd, 3.7L, great control and coner exit.

Manual no and yes, no cuz it dosent exist, yes cuz i belive nothing is imposible.

Forza 3 lets you swap to an awd. Must be true right?

Check with the Russians. And I'm not being a wise-*** here. There's a few groups out there that do nothing but the seemingly impossible mods and they love converting things to AWD. They did it with a 2009/10 Acura TSX. And added a turbo. Well suffice to say it hauls ***.

And while money will get you anything, there's a lot of people here that will flat-out say no because they don't want to try or lack the engineering skills to make it work. If you want it done, contact those guys. I always wished the 370 would come in AWD. Instant GTR killer... with added power mods, of course.

Ur right, and no i dont need to contact them, i am an engineer already and i have two Russian master engineers on my side for any help i need, the only thing is i have no funds, i have already eyeballed both platforms and they look, it layout, its allinment seems perfect, but it must be auto tranny, although with enought $ on my side i can make it manual, by redesign ing the back of the manual transmission to allow the gears from well i was thinking titans tranny where by a push of a button you can go from RWD to AWD.

This is just a small sum of things that need to be done, all n all not that many parts ill have to redesing, its duable.

With my own funds it will take about 5 years 4 me to finish my car, i allready have few things desinged like umm titanium oil gears, titanium rods and pistons, cheap 2 peaces of plastic that will prevent fuel starve (4eva) i can even dising it for an aroplane not to have a fuelstarve lol.

So yeah. Any input is wellcome.

Ps. I typed this from my phone, and i HATE phone touch screen keyboard.

My impression is that the AWD system from the X is more for safety and wet/snow traction, not cornering oriented, it'll just give the car more push up front theoretically?

Also, I thought some suspension parts aren't interchangeable between the G37 and G37x, not sure how that translates into this application.

Good luck

Well the AWD will give the Z a evo/sti type of feel i guess.

And the only suspension parts that i would need from the g37x are front wheel hub where the bearings are and this one should be exactly the same as Zs exept it will have teeth for the front halfshafts, now i dont know what else will be need to be modifed or redesined there untill i have a car to take spects from, my friend just got an awd q50x, the layout looks same, but i doubt he will let me take his suspension apart cuz the car is leased.

Something else to consider/think about: you might be able to drop the entire Z front part, engine and all and bolt up a G37X front clip (suspension and etc). It's only money at this point.

This part is actually true from what i've heard elsewhere. It isn't a full-time system. Just get the GTR guts (engine and all) and modify to fit. Then you'll be kicking ***.
