Yea man I'm really torn on how I should handle it. Worst part is I wasn't driving aggressively at all. If this happened and I was doing pulls or running canyons I wouldn't be so pissed off.

Dude wtf same **** happened to me two night ago. I picked up my car in San Diego and I was 2 blocks away from my office. Dude says he heard my bov he couldn't even find it or the sc but gives me a ticket anyways and I wasn't even speeding.
Got a modified emissions and see ref. shoot me a pm I talked to a few people that got ref tickets and advised me on how to deal with it etc.

I'm so sad you and Martin got jacked...

BOVs aren't illegal, stock Mini JCW's have a pretty good BOV sound stock. And I believe the 4th ammendment restricts you from unlawful searches and you don't have to consent to testing.

If you've got the balls to do it... Do it... Most cops will be dumbfounded that you know a law. And if they say you broke a law, ask which one, and how they KNOW. Ask if you are being detained.

Besides that... Good luck! I know a buyer in "TX" that "doesn't" live in CA... You should PM him. He's post 55 in your thread

btw, my ticket shows up online right now only shows the option to extend it or setup court date, hoping when ticket comes in the mail it will have an amount !!!

Just wanted to chime in here and let everyone know the car is back on the road without correction and although it does suck I am chalking it up to being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I have rolled by plenty of cops with no issues so far.. This guy just had his panties twisted. Anyway, back to some mod plans! I am hoping to finally get a harness bar and takatas in the car soon, as well as pulling the wrap off and fixing the paint.

Find a good lawyer. It'll be money we'll spent for advice and perhaps keep your mods and your z drivable.

I talked to some of my law buddies as far as popping my hood in the future and they said this is a big gray area. The way it has been described to me that if you refuse, the cop is most likely going to tow your car because they are not searching for contraband (drugs,weapons,etc) but making sure your car is not a "hazard to the environment and others on the roadway"

The wrap is gonna come off soon. It was fun while it lasted, also thinking of switching wings but I love my picknick bench wing!

I had 0 issues with my track car on the street for 2 full years, it's the loud by pass valve on my SC kit that turned attentions of the cops 1+ blocks away lmao. Just need to route it back and call it a day, stay away from West LA

Just a little update. Car is still running like a "raped ape"

I am strongly considering taking the wrap off, painting all the accents matte black to match the TE's and maybe go white on the brake calipers. Opinions?
