As for the NIsmo CBE, it's not that bad, but there is power to be had by changing it out. Please keep us posted on the headers and the your Nismo results. Sould be interesting.
How poignant this post has just become!

Super Secret Swaybar Sponsorship (Say it three times fast) in the works THIS WEEK...

I'm excited!

Also added photo of the oil cooler right before we buttoned up the front!

Check it out! Works amazingly well.

Nice build! Just be careful with the brakes, when they do overheat, they go very quickly! Next mod should be cooling ducts, they really need it.

Congrats on the sponsorship and other progress man. Let me know next time you plan to hit the track!

I have a series of exams next week so I can't come on the 31st. BUT, I just bought a GoPro so... soon!

Pics and videos from the track are up!

The car was fantastic until the CSC popped!

Sooo much grip! The instructor (Z06/Mustang Race Car Driver) was impressed on his orientation mini-session.

Oil cooler functioned flawlessly, in 90 degree weather (105 track temp) doing 120+ down the front straight it never got over 210 oil temp!

Are you on the stock clutch still? I'm still on the stock CSC and stock clutch and somehow it is still working fine despite countless track days. Okay the clutch is probably getting a little tired but other than that so far so good. Aftermarket clutches seem to accelerate the failure for some reason, perhaps the stronger pressure plates add too much strain for the weak part.

Turns out it's the master cylinder.

There's a thread in the Tech section where dozens of folks chime in and say they're having the same issue, apparently pretty common. At least mine happened on a downshift from 4 to 3 going into turn 1 of a fast track, instead of backing out of the driveway or pulling out into traffic like many folks... :-)

No hating, just honest questions.
Wanted to update on this as well, we tested a prototype "big single" exhaust that used a 2.5" > 3" Y-Pipe into a 3" magnaflow muffler and out. We lost bottom end torque and 2 top end HP as compared to the Nismo CBE.

Dunno what voodoo the NISMO Magicians are using, but it works...

We'll be testing some more solutions in the coming weeks and months, just thought you'd find this interesting.

UPDATE! 5/28/2012

Posted photo of everything that got pulled out of the car today... She feels a lot different minus another 100+ pounds of non-essential crap!

Going to confirm with the scales, but we should be damned close to <3000lbs curb weight.

Also posted a photo from our last event. Here's a very short video as well:

Let us know about the actual weight? 3K is hard. This week I'm pulling out my radio, speakers, and door panels. My seats are probably the biggest weight savings. Can't wait to becaome a man and remove the AC.

Will do, car weighed in at 3098 @ the track on Friday, we pulled at least 50-60 pounds if not more, for sure.

Either way, the weight loss will be short-lived once we put bigger bars and a cage in the car.. haha.
