I installed my F.I. exhaust last october and had the problem with being one tooth off when putting the steering shaft back on. honestly i forgot to reattach it in general at first lol realized it when i dropped the lift, started the car, and my steering wheel moved very easily. but luckily i put a small mark with a sharpie on the knuckle and the steering shaft so one more simple adjustment and it was right back on for me. i never have had any problems with any dashboard lights though(CEL/TC)
