Worked out ok then. I notice that your ducts sit farther to the outside then mine.

Oh, I got a trackday this coming Tuesday at Pittsbugh International.
So I'll find out how well my set-up is.

Did my first trackday of the year at PittRace. Had a great time.
The Nismo work well. Oil temps never got over 200F. because it was a cold day. 40F in the morning, warming up to 55F when we was done. Brakes worked good with the duct work. Using YellowStuff pads. No brake dust on the rims. Thinking the air through the ducts was blowing it off. I had trouble finding the limits of the Mich PSS's. I got alot to learn. The car is better then me. Had a '09 Viper ACR crashed 2 turns in front of me in session 1. It was the owners first time on the track. 600hp car with Mich Sport Cups and cold temps, and driving over his head caught him out. Now I have to wash the anti-freeze off of the Nismo from him. Felled really bad for the guy. First timer with a car that had a 1000 miles on it. His dream turned into a nightmare. Wanted to take a picture of it but out of respect, I didn't.Have another trackday next month. Trying to down my videos to youtube now. Think that will take a fews days to do.

Forgot to add. "phunk's" fuel starvation kit worked great. Diid 3 sessions on one tank of gas. Never once hinted at fuel starvation. Was down to 1 light on the fuel gauge when I was done for the day. Took 17 gallons to refill it. Thanks "phunk".

Yeah. Had the Power Wagon in water over the hood crossing a creek.

Yeah front camber is really lacking on this car, especially once you put stiffer springs on that drop the car a little. Personally, I haven't had any real issue with rear camber at stock settings. I just adjust the rear Hotchkis bar to balance out the car a bit in the oversteer direction and my rear tires wear pretty evenly as they slip around. Maybe it starts becoming more of an issue after you *do* get the front camber kicked out to a good value and you need to balance things up again.

Here's a video from the first session. The instructor had me working on a few different things.

My only $0.02 on that vid is hand (and maybe seat) position. IMHO, they should be telling you to plant your hands at 9 and 3 on the steering wheel and try to just keep them there unless a tight turn absolutely demands it. Getting this to work out for you may require adjusting your seat position backwards a little to get your knees out of the way of the lower hand, and/or adjusting steering tilt, etc. It's tricky to get the cockpit configured just right sometimes, but it really makes life easier once it's all Just Right. ETA: Looking back at your previous vids, it seems you had your hands/seat/etc in a better position last time around. Experimenting? Last edited by wstar; 07-21-2013 at 09:07 AM. |

Just curious - with the amount of track time you have been doing lately, how is the color on your calipers holding-up? There was a lot of talk awhile back that repeated heat cycles would make the bright red color turn brown.
Yours seem to be doing fine. I've got the same color done by Mike.
