I've been thinking about painting my wheels, but Dan says that the paint will get scraped up too. What if I go to a place that has a touchless tire mounting machine? I want to do paint because it's more permanent than plasti dip and much easier to clean. Duplicolor has a gunmetal wheel paint that I was thinking about trying. Here's a wheel that was done in that color

You could powdercoat them. That will last and look great.

Only problem with powdercoating is the cost. I'd rather spend that same amount of money on an HPDE. Then you also have to pay to dismount and then mount the tires.

Didn't truly realize how dusty my new brakes were till this past weekend. With the lighter silver color of my wheels it's WAY easier to notice all the dust and literally impossible to keep them clean. Washed them on Saturday after the cruise and they were pretty dirty again after just a 20-30 min drive. Right now they are slowly turning back into that same dark gray color that they were before

Who needs painting/powdercoating when your brake dust color matches with your car? Notice how the front wheels are darker than the rears

So Rob and I painted my wheels yesterday. Wasn't the best job, but we did pretty good for a first time DIY. Mother nature gave us a lot of trouble with the high temps, humidity, and wind. Everything was going perfect till we started spraying the paint. It wouldn't go on smoothly and kept bubbling due to temps and humidity. They look good from far away, but not so much from up close. Probably gonna wet sand and refinish them at some point. I kind of wanted a bit darker color for them, which I might try for the refinish. Another thought I had was to try painting the lugs red to match the brakes. What do you guys think?

Edited my last post with the pics. Those are just a couple quick ones I took coming into work. Ill take some more later.

I used VHT wheel paint, but I think you could probably use any kind of paint really.

The color looks perfect bro! I would probably do black lugs or maybe color match them.

It looks a little different in the pics because of the lighting. It looks a little too close to the car color IMO. A want it a bit darker so it has more contrast with the body, sort of like how it looked with the plasti dipped color. I was thinking of maybe doing red lugs to match the brakes. Though I do like how they look as is with the silver center cap.

just be aware that you will chip lug nut paint, so pick something that mixes well with silver.

car looks good, btw

I'm probably gonna leave it as is. Thanks

Might paint the headlight housing soon if the local headlight painting party goes well. After that I'm thinking sway bars and UpRev tune.
