yeeeahhh, trust me, it was tough to not go all out. I was really considering a used audi S5, like 2019-2020, so that I had a nice second car. Then send the Z off to Z1 for a TT and then do a full reupholster on the interior. Knowing I was looking at an east $25-30k for all of that made me realize that I wanted something different. I wasn't getting the same feeling from the car, that I once was. A little sad but it will be interesting moving to a gen 2 R8 next year.

yeah, kinda went through all my options but Im stuck on the showroom floor look. I would take that option over the flake flooring, Im just not a fan of that.
this is what Im looking at getting. ![]() |

Cleaned up the car a few days ago, after about 2-3 months of neglect. A few houses are still being built in my neighborhood so a lot of dirt and nasty clay gets thrown around. Its really bad when it rains too. The new TN license plates kinda prompted me to do this. I havent done anything to this car in quite a while and the change from grey/green plate to blue/white was so nice. Seems stupid but yeah, at least its clean now.

well, my R8 deal fell through. Spent a few months shopping around, most dealers wouldn't negotiate and I decided to just call it quits on that car. The more I kept looking, the more picky I got and the most the cars cost was going up and up. In the end, I was sitting here looking at 2018 with 7-10k miles costing me $190k after taxes and other fees.
In the end, I went with what I was originally looking to get into, when they first released in 2018, a Lexus LC500. After the R8 deal fell through, I felt like it was a sign. Aside from the monthly payment being 1/3rd of what they were going to be, it felt like the smarter move. Ive had it for 2 weeks now and slapped an army trix exhaust on it already. Looking forward to doing as much as a I can. Though the community for this car is a bit different than the Z community and the "mod-ability" is far far less. |

little update...a kid out in Miami bought it for $10k, paid around $5k and fixed it. He didnt know how to drive it that low and started fuking up the fenders over the 1-2 years he owned it. He ended up selling it. He would contact me and ask questions everyone once in a while. ALSO, he never replaced the Michelin PS4s I had on it from years ago. Probably drove it until cord showed through. Not sure why people forget to budget tires into maintenance. I think it didnt realize how expensive tires were for 20s.
It did find a new home though. Someone that took care of it as much as I could have hoped for...for the most part I suppose. The kid did *cough* put under glow on it and rewrapped it a teal though. He did his best...you could tell he loved the car while he had it. Not sure where it is now though. Last edited by Zerafian; 05-16-2024 at 04:43 PM. |

A tell tail sign is the person thats interested is A,in their early 20s (not all, but definitely not a good sign they are mature enough to care for a car like yours), and B, thinks he can go fast in a Z and thats the first thing they want to try.
You've held on to your 350z for so long man. I wouldnt be concerned about turning down people until you get a good "vibe" from them. Its kinda heart breaking to see the disrespect even though its not your car anymore. Last edited by Zerafian; 05-16-2024 at 04:44 PM. |

dont be sorry! Not anymore. Its been about 4 years since Ive owned a Z at this point. Until I get a home with 3+ garage spots, I can only have my daily driver. Moved to some other types of cars, trying to experience somethign different after 15 years of nothing but Nissans.
