The one tax that they are talking about and gaining traction is a mileage tax. It is because they feel that the hybrid and electric cars are getting a free ride on road use because they pay little to nothing in fuel taxes. The catch to this is. We already have a fuel tax. This will go alone with it. Meaning now us gas and diesel users will pay the mileage tax too, if this comes about. Any way they can get their hands into your wallet. They will find a way.

One of the things I read was. There would be a sensor in the car that recorded mileage. When you pull up to a gas pump gas, and filled your tank. The sensor in the car would send it's data to the fuel pump. The when the pump would show how much fuel you bought, plus the mileage tax you have to pay too.
