That's what my wife carries. Watch hot reloads and +P's. They will bulge the cases.

BoneZ 11-15-2015 08:59 AM

I still CC my Glock 19. I'm looking into getting a 43 for those times I need something smaller.

Consider Cook's holsters. Best kydex anywhere.

Water as actually a very harsh test. If a JHP is going to over-expand and lose integrity due to it, water will expose it.

Edit: BTW, love the look of your SOCOM. Especially the camo.

Found what I think was a decent deal. So I bought a new toy. http://www.the370z.com/members/urdel...s-tactical.jpg
Remington 870 express tactical $399. Can't wait to play with it.

It was one of those 1 hour only specials. I happened to be in the right place at the right time so I stocked up.

Shooting his wartime 1943 mosin. Such a sweet gun. It was dead accurate.

My table. M&P9 fullsize, shield9, a ruger lcr 38sp, and my buds new Taurus 38sp (no idea on model)
https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8831/...070b8bae_b.jpg

My full size 9 was shooting 8" targets and soda bottles at 50yrd. I'm pleased with the purchase. Groupings sucked but I was hitting. My friend bought that Taurus on the same day I bought the 9. It sucked so bad it's already sold. Thing was garbage. Neither of us could hit anything with it. Not even at 7yrds out.

OMG!! you have a BOOM STICK!!! My brother has one of those and a K31. Those boom sticks are crazy!! We were shooting at old rotors from a Miata at around 50yards. They blast right through them !!! That Boom stick has a mighty kick!

Is it true

In the wake of the Confiscationist's calls for more "gun control," that ARs are flying off the shelves or hard to get now...again?

Flying off the shelves, and the great ammo shortage of 2016 is already underway. Hard to find good 5.56 or .223.

Going by what I've read, sales are up for most guns - S&W stock made a nice jump recently.

I can get centerfire ammo locally but rimfire stuff can be hard to find. Local stores are frequently out of .22 LR and I had to drive 35 miles to get some .22 Magnums. .17 WMRs are usually in stock but often only in limited quantities (1 or 2 boxes).
12 gauge shells are still plentiful.

"Specialty" ammo (LAP, tracer, flechette, &c), is no problem since Firequest is located in town. I can get some good deals buying stuff that they are discontinuing or don't have enough of to put in the catalog. :)

Rusty 12-14-2015 04:31 PM

Was just at Cabela's by Wheeling WV. They had plenty of .22's and other calibers. AR's and the like have jumped in price again. I bought my daughter a S&W M&P 22 Compact for Christmas so that she can practice without costing me an arm and leg. :icon17:

Inspector71 12-15-2015 02:40 PM

I was going to buy

Ruger's new plain Jane AR15. I have an AR10 and for the price through my FFL, $571 I couldn't beat the price. But, I had saved up money to put down on a Z and trade my Challenger. Once, to my surprise, I discovered the Challenger had been in a front end crash, I needed every dime I had saved to buy the Z. I did so and then the mass shootings and here we go again.

Amen to that.
I belong to a number of pro-2nd Amendment organizations and serve on the board of directors for one. I also am their chief article writer...and this is the fun par, I am also a public high school teacher. My colleagues in the Socialist Studies department teach kids to never touch guns, they should be banned, and to drive a Prius and avoid red meat. I am the complete opposite. Naturally they have been after me for years and finally forced me into retirement this May. But I took notes all these years and have a tale to tell. Arm up, gun up.

Socialist studies! LMAO. I just about fell out of the chair. Funny, but sadly true.

Not sure if this has been covered ( I couldn't look through all 280 pages ), but for those of you who carry in the Z, where do you keep your gun for quick access?

Under the steering wheel in a Blackhawk holster.

Beside me on the passenger seat.

urdeliveryguy 12-19-2015 07:02 AM

I'm usually wearing it and don't take it off my waist. Those under the steering wheel rigs look nice though.

Also I was at both cabelas here (pa & del). And they had a huge sale on thier 5.56 & .223 ammo. Lots in stock. But I couldn't find buckshot

It depends for me. On days when I am in the office I carry in my briefcase, so it's in the passenger seat next to me. Any other day it's in my waistband.

FNR32 12-19-2015 08:57 AM

I need to look into one of those under the steering wheel rigs

No matter what car I drive it's always in my lap between my legs. Quick access is critical in a serious situation.

Completed a permit to purchase 2 additional approximately 3 weeks ago. The big guy that lives south of me in a big white house is the best salesman evah! Decisions, decisions.
