The Spas-12 is definitely one of the best looking shotguns out there. Sad, that's really where most of its appeal ends. It's got movie cred, but it's also crazy overpriced and finicky to boot.
You're better off just going with a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870. You can't beat the price point or the reliability. For what you would spend on the Spas, you could turn your 500/870 base into just about anything. And still have plenty of cash left over for shells. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
What the deuce? I go to see a movie and there's a big ol' no weapons permitted sign. Then we go to a store and they have the same sign. I feel horrible I had to violate someone's "store policy" twice today.

I did change out my carry ammo today. I love fresh shiny rounds.

Exactly. Same here. Just waiting on my new holster so I can carry the smaller pistol. That XMD is a monster on my thin-*** frame. Summer concealed carry is a no-go with that thing. |

Regal Cinema is the worst. I've been trying to boycott them but there isn't another decent theater within 25miles. They've been trying to ban it for years but I've been ignoring the sign because it was no where close to legal. Then Texas passed open carry and then finally did enough homework to officially post legal conceal and open ban. Baffles me how in times where random dumbfucks shoot up theaters that in Texas they wouldn't allow conceal carry everywhere. :shakes head: |
That's why you flip off the sign and do it anyway.
|
While I am a big fan of the 2nd Amendment, I cannot condone carrying weapons onto property where the owner does not want them. The property owner has the right to ban guns (or anything else) if she/he so desires. If you don't like their rules, find another place to do business. YMMV
|
As we all know, criminals and terrorists don't have rules. If you feel unsafe then do business elsewhere. I will never go to the movies without packing.

Anyone else using the Sticky Holster?
I've had good experience with it and it's very comfortable. Now that the nice weather is here it works great with shorts and a normal belt. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1471/...d9771f_z_d.jpg |

That being said, I see your point and the owner may ask you to leave if you are packing. They could do the same if you were drunk, using foul language or maybe just stank. |

Got a buddy that does. He seems to like it. In the summer months I opt for this, http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...4cf8ca5435.jpg |

Technically, when I go into a place that has a sign that bans 'concealed weapons', my knife is a violation. Sorry, but in today's climate, I'm going nowhere unarmed.

I'm all for Constitutional Carry (no license, open or concealed) and think, in most cases, Gun Free Zones are a bad idea. But I am also a firm believer that a Man's home (and by extension, place of business) is His castle. My right to keep and bear arms doesn't trump your right to determine what happens in your castle. If I don't like the way you run your castle, I can go elsewhere. My desire to be in your castle, instead of one 100 miles away, has no bearing on the matter. YMMV

There is a bar/restaurant in Rifle Co. that the waitresses pack hog legs.
Here's the type of signs I like. |

Speaking for myself, I feel I have an obligation to provide to anyone in my castle some level of safety and protection.

I'm curious as to why some of you feel the need to carry all/most the time. I'm a Constitutional Carry kind of guy but I have seldom felt the need to carry in public. If I think some place is dangerous enough that I would need to carry, I don't go there.
I realize some may have jobs or other activities that would make full-time protection necessary, so I'm not asking y'all. :) This is aimed at Joe/Jane Average who frequently carries. Not trying to start an argument - carry if you want to, I say - just curious. |
I carry all the time. The only exceptions are when going somewhere it isn't allowed or if I'll be drinking, in both cases carrying would be illegal.
I carry all the time to remove the question of premeditated from the equation. I would prefer to sit on a stand and tell a jury I carry all the time instead of telling them I hardly carry and just felt it was necessary on 'that' day. Also you never know when something might happen. I'd rather be covered than to have my friends and family visit me at the cemetery. |
I carry all the time for the same reason I have insurance all the time.
|
Thanks for the replies. I either live in a lot safer place than you guys* or I'm oblivious to the danger.
*This could be due, in part, to the fact that a lot of people in my area DO carry. ;) |
Anyone here into firearms?
I live in Houston and you can go from million dollar houses to the projects in a matter of a mile or two.

You ever go to walmart? Them there are some scary people. Even the workers!
I've had a CCP since I was 21. 60 as of today. That's a long time to carry. I've had to pull it out, but never squeezed the trigger. Hopefully, I never have too. Growing up in a college town in the 70's shaped my thinking on guns. College kids are stupid on some of the things they did. They liked to pick on the townies (locals). Sometimes just showing the butt of a gun under your jacket was enough from getting your asss kicked. I've had 3 jobs that required to carry. DoD, armored car, and working for a private diick. That was the most FUN I've ever had on a job. :rofl2: Have 2 Certs for the state of Pa. Act 120, and Act 235. The old saying, "I would rather be tried by 12, then be carried by 6." |

2001-2013 statistics for reference: We get from 1-3 (4.6-14.9/100k) murders per year. Five (23.9/100k) in 2005, for some reason. For the same period in Houston: 198 (9.2) to 377 (18.2). Crime in El Dorado, Arkansas (AR): murders, rapes, robberies, assaults, burglaries, thefts, auto thefts, arson, law enforcement employees, police officers, crime map Crime in Houston, Texas (TX): murders, rapes, robberies, assaults, burglaries, thefts, auto thefts, arson, law enforcement employees, police officers, crime map |
Please get back on topic!
Thanks.. |
I just noticed I accidentally swapped out my +P ammo for a standard load.
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...6051d0e182.jpg I'm not sure what I think about that. I'm not sure I'd rather carry standard over a +P load. Thoughts? |

But I don't usually carry, so take that with a grain of salt. ;) |
