What I can remember on rebuilding VW motors was that they don't like Quaker State oil. They would sludge up so bad the oil wouldn't flow back into the crank

What I can remember on rebuilding VW motors was that they don't like Quaker State oil. They would sludge up so bad the oil wouldn't flow back into the crank case from the heads. The push rod tubes would be packed up with sludge.
