Found out the Nissan dealer in town is most likely looking for techs. My only problem is I don’t have a scanner yet and my tool selection isn’t that great at the moment. My diagnosing skills aren’t where I’d like them either. I’m a glorified parts changer now.

There’s just no room to grow at my current job since the new guy is now the service manager and my brother is the assistant manager. I’m just not happy being able to not do anything more. I want to improve but there’s nowhere I can go here. Sorry if I was repetitive.

Anywho, spent my tax refund on a new stereo set up for the house. Lolol

they dont provide tools?

dude the local big merc dealer here was just on the radio looking for techs for a new location offering like 65k, tools provided, and training if needed in certain areas.

I’m sure they provide the specialty tools, but just general stuff nah. I’d imagine I’d need a legit scanner and what not.

the radio ad said all tools and toolboxes provided. sounded like a pretty sweet deal for any mechanic. shiiiiiit i thought about jumping over for sales but i just hate the hours and having to work saturdays.

Hendrick Chevrolet (and associated other ones) provide their techs with everything needed; hand tools, specialty tools, tool chest, the whole 9 yards. They want their folks focused on fixing cars, not worrying about paying for tools and cutting corners to make a buck. I'm not sure I believe that, I wouldn't trust a stealership as far as I could throw 'em..

I heard that ad too. Sign on bonus too. If they are full tool boxes. That about $50,000~$70,000 in tools per parts changer.
