Post 09 Nismo Z exhaust project

First time posting on this site

I have a project in my head and I need your toughs about it. I will fabricate
a custom single exit exhaust for my 09 Nismo 370Z and I'm thinking about the parts I should get.

From front to back:

BERK HFC
Vibrant "Y" pipe
in the middle: Flowmaster hushpower DBX 14 in ( will it fit? )
slight curve to get to an HKS 170mm muffler

all in 409 stainless, mandrell bands, 3in piping, TIG welded and V-Bands at strategic points so I can change my setup if I want to.

Performance wise, I think i'll get something with that setup. The real question is, WILL IT SOUND GREAT in your opinion ?????

I'm open to your critics!

Just buy an exhaust. That's my critique.

i say do it and let us know how it goes, you should do a 3.5in exhaust though since it will be single exit, you could also modify a 350z single exit exhaust to fit the 370z

only problem, no single exit exhausts that are reasonably priced, amuse makes one but thats over 2k and is a major rip off

Default Custom

Making one custom is a part of the challenge, so I'll don't just buy one.

You think 3.5 in is the way to go? They say 1 in per 100 hp. And yes the VQ37 is supposed to have 350 HP, but really it is 280 at the wheels.

The Amuse R1 uses what piping ? 3.5 or 3 in ??

Here's my personal setup

Running on 170mm Titanium Hi-Power muffler (largest muffler that HKS offers)
Custom welded the inlet from 3 inch to 2.5 inch
2.5 inch stainless steel pipings
Custom Y-pipe (on it's way)
Z1 test pipes

And believe me, it is a beast with just a 2.5 inch of piping and stock Y-pipe!

Wink

Go with a Magnaflow over the Flowmaster. The Flowmaster sound good but don't flow as much as the Magnaflow. My 2cent.

i feel 3.5in would be the way to go for a single exit, 350z ones as well as the amuse R1 is 3in

the reason i say 3.5in is because it will flow a little less than true dual 2.5in and you still have some room if you decide to FI your car down the road vs being bottlenecked by a 3in single exit exhaust

Or he could just go with my 3.5''exhaust setup which is already quite optimized for an all-out N/A Power and this would avoid him a lot of time and cost on parts/tube/fitting/TIG time

...

meeh just kidding...

good luck on your personal project !! and post a couple videos once its done !

Forgot that you have the exhaust for sale. It would make a nice stocking stuffer.

No No No !!

I get rid of the Nismo exhaust to fabricate a new one, from scratch.
So I'll be selling the one that's on my Nismo for dirt cheap.
