Really? When I turn off my car, it will say about 124 miles. A few hours later, turn it back on and its down to maybe 90. It just doesn't seem that accurate to me. I don't rely on it because gaugology-101 tells me not to trust it. I just fill up when I have about 3 dots left. Hasn't failed me yet!

Is the car cooling off enough to be back in the cold start enrichment part of the map? That would explain the difference.

I don't rely on mine since it's way off with larger than stock injectors. I just use the trip meter every time I fill up. When I was stock, though, the range indicator was fairly accurate.

Hmm could be. I need to start using the trip meter too. Good idea.

I have noticed the same thing, but it always jumps back up once I start moving again. I think it calculates the remaining distance based on driving habits of the last few minutes/miles or something to that effect. I have nothing to back that assertion up beyond what I have observed, but it seems to work along those lines. This seems to make it easy to manipulate by doing crazy throttle changes or a lot of stop/start, but for longer trips where you are moving at a more constant speed, it's pretty spot on.

I'm sure this is exactly what's happening.
