Got my LTH, 12" res. and CBE installed.

It was pretty much straight forward to do. The left side stock header heat shield is a PITA to remove.

The only problem I have is my steering wheel is pointed to the left and my TC light is on. I talked to Tony about this. The thing with my Z is the the steering shaft is indexed for only one position. I can't move one tooth to line things back up. I've been fighting with this for a week now.

Overall, it's worth it.

On a cold start. It sounds like a beast that needs unleashed.

Once warm, running up through the gears to red-line. It's pure music.

Everything out of it sounds exotic.

I do have a drone at 2000 to 2500 rpm. That's if I'm lugging the motor. A quick down shift and it's gone.

I misaligned my steering also as I had to disconnect the linkage to get to the Demon Bolt. A trip to Nissan the next day and it was fixed very easily. There is a blue plastic ring at the bottom of the linkage with a blue "nubbie" that points out. On the linkage itself, the split in the clamp (where the bolt is ) has to line up with the blue nubbie on the plastic ring. This prety much lines up your steering wheel. I know it's hard to visualize this without pictures, but if you have been struggling with it for a week or more then you know what I am talking about. If still in doubt, take it to Nissan, but DO NOT LET THEM RE-ALIGN THE CAR IN ORDER TO SET YOUR STEERING STRAIGHT! The linkage has to be reset, otherwise the cable to the Air Bag that wraps around the steering can be damaged as it can be overstretched when at max turn, and your air bag may not deploy. If you get a tech worth his salt, then he'll know what I am talking about. I spent about an hour and a half chatting with the tech, the actual work took 15 minutes and that includes putting her up on the rack, resetting the linkage properly, taking her off the rack, driving in the parking lot to test the steering, then back on the rack to tighten things up.

We both made the same mistake: we took the wrong bolt out when disconnecting the linkage. The larger bolt higher up on the linkage is where we should have disconnected it. There is a key way there that will Not Allow you to misalign things...

I know what you are talking about. I removed the bolt (12mm) on top of the steering knuckle. I removed the steering shaft from the knuckle. The knuckle was never touched on the rack and pinion. The blue collar was never moved. The steering shaft is indexed (keyed) to go into the knuckle only one way. That's where I'm having problems. So I got to make an appointment for the dealer. Thank you.

I'd be highly interested to know what went wrong then - according to the tech, doing it the way you did should not effect the steering at all. Very curious to know what Nissan says...
