Blown Motor, Engine Rebuild/Replacement.

What I don't understand is why they did the dyno tune in 4th instead of 5th. I thought 5th in our cars were 1.1 Nick when they dynoed your car

i think 5th is 1:1 in the AT. 4th is 1:1 in the MT

but i think they still run both in 4th at most places.

MT is 5th for 1:1 but many do 4th because of speed limitations and dyno rollers.

I remember bobby saying to me about some limitations on his dyno but didn't know that what it was for. Now I can't help but to wonder what it would have done in 5th..

I would be curious what your car puts down on a different dyno type. But as long as you have the load to make the same boost, the engine power does not change in different gears.

Hey Charles I'm now looking for some tires that will help me hookup in the rear. Any recommendations for 305/30/19? No drag radials and something that is not noisy.. Considering ps2's..

Hey Cosmo ...
Been following this thread with much interest...
Viewed the video a couple of times.
Is that you doing the narration ?
The car got power squirrelly on those upshifts! Awesome !

I have the PS2's ... nice looking tire and a bit pricey.
They are fairly quiet though on good roads, but they do squeal/chirp when you spin 'em.

The down side to them is they have a staggered tread pattern where the meatier portion of the tread is on the outside of the tire.

Great for going around curves but not to good on straight line acceleration.
With all that power, you have to be careful to keep the a** end from going around on you if you step on it in a curve.

They do break loose more when the temps go down too.

With negative camber (they do wear more on the inside) and the fact that our cars squat on launch, you lose a good deal of contact patch...I was also getting a goodly amount of wheel hop at the track.

Changed over to the M/T DRII's for the track.

Hope this helps ... someone else may have a different experience with them.

look at RE-11's. i just switched to them from PSS's this year and fell in love with them. very sticky. got about 8k miles or so on mine and still cant break em loose from a stand still unless theres water.

running 265/35/19 up front and 305/30/19 out back on OEM sport Rays.

I wasnt able to determine what sort of dyno your car was run on, so I am unable to directly compare the power you are making to my experience.

However... youre asking a lot of a tire. I literally do not recommend any 305/30/19 for a TT 370z But if you must, go as aggressive competition grade as you are willing. I dont think you will find any of them to hook up first or second gear. The best I ran in that size was the Toyo R888 but it seemed like it lost a lot of its grip after a few weeks.

No more rear camber for you, dial it all out!

RE11s are great tires but they dont stand a chance on his car now! IMHO

I went through my rear RE11s faster than a set of R888s.. they just sit and spin with the turbos.

i understand but he said no DR's/Track tires lol so RE-11s are one of my favorites i've experienced of street tires.

the R888's look sick and have grip but like you said you toasted them in no time.
