I got to stare at one in detail for a couple of hours last year while it was parked at an event down here in Houston and pick over all the details to steal ideas for my amateur stuff The hood I saw was at the time was indeed made by VIS, but the one I saw then didn't quite look like any known VIS production model for our car.
