What if you wanted to switch to the Garrett turbos later on down the road? What would you have to change in order to run the Garrett turbos safely?

Dzel 05-25-2013 05:37 PM

I believe this question had been asked and the answer was nothing they are a complete swap out.

Most likely. The Garrett kit can be upgraded to pretty much any power level your wallet can support. This kit is capped around the 20g level, which is still a metric crap ton of power.

I hope that's the case cause I would love to do this myself!

Big announcement!!

We are pleased to announce another feature to our turbo kit system!

EcuTEK will be available as an option with our Turbo Kit that has some great features listed below.
  • Boost control. Yes, that means the factory ECU will be able to control boost which means having different boost levels via map switching. This eliminates the need for a standalone boost controller.
  • Boost Cut protection
  • Hybrid MAF/Speed Density Tuning
  • VVEL and VVT Tuning
  • Flat Foot Shifting
  • Flex Fuel (E85)
Stay tuned for more details.

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting payment since we have a better idea of when the kits will start shipping and are getting closer to our estimated shipping target of June/July. Shipping the kits will be first come, first serve. So once the kit is paid via one of our payment options, you will be added to the shipping list in the order received.

Also, we will be starting another group buy for everyone that wishes to have our new baffled oil pan.

This just keeps getting better! So EcuTEK will be an option to Uprev with no change in price?

Now for those black intake tubes...

There is a link he posted a few weeks back with the other TT kit they offer. It should give you a good idea of what's in store with this install.

Any word on shipping costs? I hope it's free shipping. :tiphat:

SAM@GTM 05-29-2013 11:28 AM

Just want to clarify something here since we are getting questions whether Ecutek will be replacing UpRev. This is not the case, we are still going to offer both of them since they are both good options. The reason we are also offering Ecutek is because it offers a lot of features that improve the overall functionality of our turbo kits. It is simply another option for people.

Also, it's not a question of whether or not Ecutek will make more power, but it does offer features that improve the experience.

Is this MHI kit still getting this manifold?

http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps8bcae970.jpg

As for the dyno sheets provided, are those with stock cats on or test pipes? What mods were done other than the 18g MHI kit?

The new MHI kit will get the new manifold. We have made some revisions to the design you see above for it to work with the 2013 car. The same manifold will be able to accept not only the MHI turbos, but the Garrett ball bearing T25 plus turbine housings as well as the regular Garrett turbos we have been using.

As for the dyno graph, the car that the 18g was tested on has our 3" exhaust and downpipes. The 16g car was tested on factory exhaust and cats as well as an aftermarket 2.5" cat-back exhaust.

Are the 16g dyno sheets for both factory exhaust/cats and 2.5"/cats posted anywhere? I'd like to see....

This is Such a Noob question (so flame suit is on) but from experienced FI users whats the difference between these turbos and ball bearing turbos?? im confused as to how these turbos make about the same whp to the other turbos gtm sells that are more expenssive. i believe its the Garrett turbos i think that are the expenssive ones not really sure but yea can i have some feedback because i am interested on these and could just call and pay in my lunch break.

p.s: my 370z is an 7A/T, forgot to put that in there. and can the 7A/T hold on the 18G or just STRICTLY 16G?

So does anybody make test pipes that 'look' like they have cats? I need to pass a visual inspection in NC lol

Doubt you will find anyone who sells them, best bet is to take your TP and have a shop cut up a set of factory cats and weld them onto the TP to 'look' like OEM.

Ha that's what I was considering doing actually. Sounds so ghetto but it could be worth it. I might just get some test pipes and roll the dice for now and hope they don't pay much attention.

Chuck33079 05-29-2013 01:54 PM

Or take your OEM cats and knock the cats out of them. Wear a respirator.
