GTM Performance Engineering: MHI Twin Turbo Official Release

We are proud to introduce our new line of Twin Turbo Kits for the 370Z based on the venerable Mitsubishi Heavy Industry turbocharger line up. These turbos are water cooled and oil lubricated journal bearing turbos with a great track record of reliability, performance and value. Available with our kits are three different turbo options: 16g (600hp), 18g (700hp), and 20g (900hp). All three turbo options cost the same. Since the VQ37VHR is such a great engine, the 16g and 18g options are great for stock motor builds while the 20g is the way to go for built engine, high horsepower setups.

Since this kit was designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, it is the only turbo kit that retains the factory crash bar. Also, there are no permanent modifications that have to be done to the car to install and run this kit successfully with outstanding performance. In addition, the engine can remain in the vehicle for installation.

As usual, we offer our kits in two basic forms: Turn-Key and Tuner. Our Turn-Key kits come with our GTM Spec ECU flash and upgraded fuel system components. These kits are designed to deliver a complete package that can be installed on a car and perform flawlessly out of the box. Our Tuner Kit, on the other hand is a complete kit that gives the end user the freedom to choose whatever engine management and fuel system components they prefer.

Below are the components included in our Turn-Key Kit.
  • Cast Ductile Iron Exhaust Manifolds
  • Pre-Bent Stainless Steel Heat Shields
  • Exhaust Manifold Install Hardware Kit

Wow this a flippin awesome deal...great work guys! I got some serious thinking and figuring to do. I'm sure you will be hearing from me. Can you please PM me a price with install at your shop!

Thanks for bringing an affordable tt kit to the community!

tower74 03-19-2013 10:11 PM

Ahhh DAMN YOU!!!!! Now I'm even more torn on which new kit to buy. Either way, WOW just WOW on the pricing. Nice job guys!! Numbers look good!!

blackonorange 03-19-2013 10:15 PM

Why were the original horsepower numbers higher ? What's the difference between te first car an this car

ts-c63 03-19-2013 10:30 PM

i just stared at the turn key price for about 5 mins without blinking!! I have some serious i mean serious thinking to do.

can someone one give me a price range on how much it is to intall a turbo kit.

Footloose301 03-19-2013 10:34 PM

If I can come up with the cash soon then I'm definitely in on the group buy since its a terrific deal.... $5600!

Otherwise I will probably step up from this $6800 kit and go to your regular Garrett Stage 1 for $7500.

I can't wrap my mind around this. 25% of a $6800 kit is $1700, but you're limited to $3400 of credit, so you won't have enough for the kit. So technically you NEED 50% down ($3400) and then you give us $3400 credit line adding up to the price of the kit, $6800?

future370zzz 03-19-2013 10:55 PM

Posted some ? on the other identical thread. Good point^

Footloose301 03-19-2013 11:06 PM

How good are the installation instructions? Tons of pictures? Pop up book-like? I'd really consider doing this myself since I bought a Titan crew cab last week for a daily I can keep the Z in the garage.

I don't know, not can I speak on GTM's behalf, but I have heard that their installation instructions for their other products were so good that Ray Charles could do the install

showme99 03-19-2013 11:36 PM

:excited:

This just made my day!

When will this kit be made available for the G37? Will you be offering another group buy at that time?

future370zzz 03-19-2013 11:39 PM

In on group buy! Had some ? In the other identical thread.

BigT 03-19-2013 11:39 PM

You guys are ********. My wedding is in september and If I pick this up, my wife-to-be will kill me. Orrrrrrrrr.... we aren't married yet and she has no say in my fund spending??

Hmmm.. decisions, decisions.

370zrider 03-20-2013 12:09 AM

TT kit --> :eek:
price --> :eek:

Sam, this is incredible... this really could be THE TURBO KIT for many of us.

Let us know the details.. any drilling or welding during the installation??
Does it require new engine mounts?

BlkNismo 03-20-2013 04:30 AM

In for additional info on the new manifolds and oil pan.

Also, will the same recirc pipes for the garrett kit fit this?

Whats the boost curve difference on 16g v 18g?

Has additional testing been completed on possible boost creep issues with iwg?

Jordo! 03-20-2013 05:27 AM

That is indeed a sweet series of deals.

Projected installation time(s) for a professional shop?

Special concerns additional costs (e.g., AT fluid cooler?) for 7AT at those torque levels?

Jordan11b 03-20-2013 05:33 AM

wanting todo the group buy in.

There are ALWAYS added costs to 7AT drivers.
This is IMPLIED when you buy the AT

trans cooler is a first, valve bodies are #2, better flex plate is #3

UNKNOWN_370 03-20-2013 07:11 AM

Well this turbo kit is another pleasant surprise. Very affordable. It's gonna be tough. FI and GTM coming out at the same time with quality turbo kits. GTM has the price value for sure. F.I. is breaking records. Both companies are making dreams come true for the masses. Thanks guys @ GTM and all other sponsors for supporting the Z the way you do!!!

edub370 03-20-2013 07:21 AM

will this financing be available on other kits you guys offer as well?

Chemy 03-20-2013 07:56 AM

I think I am in for a group buy! Been waiting for something like this, perfect kit. Lets get 50+ people !

enkei2k 03-20-2013 07:56 AM

Since the numbers are very similar to the Garrett kit, why would someone choose the Garrett kit over this one or this one over the Garrett kit?

He posted the reason already, I'll attempt to find it... Or hopefully he'll repost it

DarkJak 03-20-2013 08:39 AM

Awesome prices. Interested in the estimated cost/time for installation.

I'm gonna need to find a job while I'm abroad haha.

blackonorange 03-20-2013 08:57 AM

I'm in for the group buy

Nixlimited 03-20-2013 09:00 AM

Congrats guys. Look forward to seeing the 16G results on my ride. :tiphat:

FireDan50 03-20-2013 09:12 AM

Totally in for group buy....GTM should start a group buy thread or something to keep track and solicit max participation.

I'm in either for 16g or 18g tuner kit, debating on internal/external waste gates

HighLatency 03-20-2013 09:18 AM

Are the dyno numbers on the first page with 2.5" downpipes/cat back or 3" downpipes/catbacks?

Dzel 03-20-2013 09:20 AM

Sub'd

Your car is curently there getting the 16G TT kit?

I'm curious to see the graphs between the two since previously they released the graphs for the 16Gs and now the numbers listed are for the 18Gs

Correct. I am curious too!

Footloose301 03-20-2013 09:50 AM

I was also hoping the turn key would have external waste gates as well but I'm about 90% positive I'm getting in on this group buy in about 2-3 weeks when I have my money.

UNKNOWN_370 03-20-2013 11:04 AM

For the money and financing options. This is insane. I wish i can jump into one of these kits right now.

Jordan11b 03-20-2013 11:08 AM

so should we start an official group buy in thread?

SPOHN 03-20-2013 11:15 AM

I'm doing this for sure. But will have to wait till after track season. Might just go built motor then.

red6spd 03-20-2013 11:21 AM

I'm convinced GTM and FI are trying to break up marriages and relationships.

Z370Z011 03-20-2013 11:35 AM

Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!! 5k!?... Tax returns... so hard to resist! :( lol!

That's what I'm saying!!! I'm getting $3,500 back. So hard to resist. Why did I have to teach my GF about turbos why??? I could have just hid it from her and told her I changed the exhaust or something. LOL.
