My teachers use to tell me that if you can read, you can figure out how to do brain survey. Well Where's the broad now I need help with the install.

You need to imagine more! :stirthepot:

Sweet I'm a little worried about the headers removal but am hoping I can take this on myself. I recently just stocked up my garage with jack stands, a car jack, and almost every basic tool one may need.

The most important:

MaxJax Portable Two Post Lift - Dannmar Equipment

Buying a 2-post lift was the most useful "tool" purchase I've ever made. If you have enough ceiling height, go for a Rotary 2-post asymmetric.

It'll make this install SOOO much easier!

Dzel 04-21-2013 03:41 PM

I would love one if I ever did do this I would have to cement part of the backyard and build me a little shop.

tower74 04-21-2013 04:30 PM

Wow. $3300 for a full lift. That's a great price.

Dzel 04-21-2013 07:32 PM

Where do you guys put your Jack to lift the car from the front?

Thanks bro! I'll be putting it on jacks here in a few days to install my CBE

Unless you have a very low profile jack, the brace spot in the front is hard to get to initially. I suggest getting some pieces of wood cutout in like 4"x4" squares and cut a lit channel to jack from the side skirt jack points. Helps to not crumple them.

Dzel 04-21-2013 09:15 PM

Yeah that was my plan to use my factory Jack then slide my Jack in the middle to get my Jack stands under there

Wouldn't even bother with the factory jack. Just have two roller jacks. Makes things easier!

Dzel 04-22-2013 12:48 PM

Those are nice and I didn't even think of them. But my budget for this project is already going into the red so I'll just have to do it the ghetto way.:ugh2:

All I have to do is swipe my card.

Whatever you do... Safety, Safety, Safety first and don't work alone.

Heard to many sad stories and accidents.. Be safe :tiphat:

Alstann 04-23-2013 01:37 AM

For absolute peace of mind when I do extended time projects, I leave my car on ramps that are raised high into the air with flat pieces of wood.

No way 4 ton each ramps are gonna fail. ^^

SPOHN 04-23-2013 01:37 PM

Has everyone decided the details of there kit. Here's mine.

Tuner Kit
External Wastegate (Open Dump Baby)
Turbosmart Bov
Turbosmart Wastegate

Fearless_Z 04-23-2013 01:38 PM

What are the differences in the BOV's and wastegates that are offered?

Specifically, what is the difference between the TiAL Q & Turbosmart?

The TiAl Q is a 50mm, vent to atmosphere blow off valve while the Turbosmart Raceport is a 52mm vent to atmosphere blow off valve. Both blow off valves are exceptional units and flow very well.

We have used both valves with great success for several years.

SPOHN 04-23-2013 02:03 PM

I think both have been revised lately. I do know the Turbosmart was manufactured better such as the molding process and the way it rids itself of heat. But that was years ago. But I'm sure there equal now.

Now looking at HKS boost controller.

Mike, can I get a windshield banner with my kit or I can have one made with your permission? Little advertising on the East coast. Things are changing. Hint.

Footloose301 04-23-2013 03:55 PM

Stickers should be with the kit. Great advertising. I would throw a good sized one on the Z

SPOHN 04-23-2013 08:48 PM

Question. With the new GTM oil pan will the oil filter still be in the same location? I ask cause im already running your oil cooler kit and I also have a sandwich plate (Greddy Plate) added in for I run a oil pressure gauge from it. I was hoping I wouldn't have to relocate all of it.

Where do the oil feed lines come from? I also have a oil temp gauge in the oil pan spacer. Does your pan have ports for sensors? If so how many?

As far as the piping goes how much effort goes into the polishing process? You can leave mine in raw form. It's going to get powder coated by Mike to match my wheels.

Sorry for all the questions. Just curious. If it's too much just go ahead and sent the kit and I'll figure it out.

I'm also happy being I run the Stillen front fascia and with the large side opening your kit places the air filters right in front of it. Someone say ram air? Yes please.

We have three color options: Red, Silver, and White...let me know what color you want when we start putting the orders together.

Our oil pan keeps the oil filter in the stock location. As for the second sandwich adapter, you can ditch that when you put our kit on since the turbo oil feed comes from the factory oil pressure sensor port via an adapter that has an extra port for an aftermarket oil pressure sensor. ;)

Our oil pan also has two 1/8" NPT ports (one on either side) for a temperature probe that allows flexibility in installation.

As far as the piping goes, we can supply you raw pipes if you like.

Dzel 04-24-2013 04:39 PM

Ooooo a GTM sticker is going to look nice on the Z's :yum: and that's like another 65 HP added :driving::happydance:

I'm going to want a silver one!

It's baffled, holds more oil, looks boss, and sits higher than a spacer pan. What's not to like? Holding 7-8 quarts of oil is a boon (including oil cooler[s]). I was a bit jealous of the larger intercoolers too, until I found out my kit gets them too haha. There is a surprising amount of parts sharing (minus turbos and xtra piping) between them, mine cost nearly 2x as much, and doesn't make as much under the curve! There is good reason why so many are jumping on this. If I were to go TT, this would be it, it really helps guys afford the supporting mods and stay in a reasonable price point. Instead of spending $15k, you can spend 10. At least that's the way I see it. Hopefully these guys don't get "turbo vision" and focus only on the kit, but get the supporting mods that are recommended.

Take my word for it, this kit with proper supporting mods and install will still be > 10K. Totally worth it, though.

Dzel 04-25-2013 12:10 AM

I'm looking at around thst amount if I take it to get installed and tuned.
