Which would be better to run? I would assume external?

External is always better if the budget allows it.

airikrankin 04-26-2013 10:12 AM

since these manifolds are goinna have the port for the ext wg anyway, would an option be to get the down pipes for the kit that have the int wg so it will bolt to stock exhaust and then install the ext wg and have them dump to atmosphere? i prefer the ext over the int, but i dont need the 3" downpipes

"Needed" is a bit subjective. For me, I focused on significant upgrades to the overall cooling system, a good EBCS, and gauges to keep my eye on things. Did not replace the clutch yet because it is not worn out yet. Only have 4700 miles on the car. I drove my 490 WHP STI on stock clutch for years, though it did start slipping at the end. When my Z starts slipping, I will address that.

SPOHN 04-28-2013 11:22 AM

OK I have an issue. I come here several times a day and stare at this kit. Is that normal? I'm addicted. Like my needs are never met. I really need to work in a performance shop.

Dzel 04-28-2013 11:48 AM

Same here. We should have a weekly meet like alcoholics anonymous! :bowrofl:

BeemaaZ 04-28-2013 01:12 PM

If you dont have to relieve yourself after that than you are still normal

SPOHN 04-28-2013 05:12 PM

^ Another Atlanta guy. Woot

Footloose301 04-28-2013 08:13 PM

I'm craving it too. Riding around in my buddies vette with 438hp..... At the crank! Can't wait for 500whp

COSMO 04-28-2013 09:43 PM

You guys are going to love the gtm kit.. I always look forward to when I have a chance to take a spin in my ride.... Now I need a new clutch and a boost controller...

Alstann 04-29-2013 07:55 AM

Now that I think about it, this many pre-orders will be great for guys that wanna boost in a few years. Think about all the cars we can monitor for reliabilty and how many miles, what boost level and hp, etc.

I feel like this is gonna open up the 370z world a bit more. One step at a time.

I am hoping by the end of the year my inbox goes crazies or this thread increase a lot. http://www.the370z.com/forced-induct...ed-builds.html
Trying to keep track of as many as I can and with this many people on the list we can get a nice log going.

edub370 04-29-2013 09:20 AM

anyone know how the ewg's are gonna be ran? i havent read thru every page, so if it's been mentioned sry in advance. but are these gonna be routed back into the exhaust or open dumps? if open dumps, then hellll yea. i love the ease of internal wg's, but im slightly worried about boost creep with my 2.5" test pipes

KaienZ34 04-29-2013 10:34 AM

Recirculated external wastegtes, is that an option?

SPOHN 04-29-2013 10:36 AM

Yes the EWG are going to be open dumb. I love freighting people.

Dzel 04-29-2013 10:36 AM

How much more would it be? For exw?

I thank you....:tiphat:

SPOHN 04-29-2013 11:41 AM

Talked to Sam. Recirculated pipes will be an option for EWG.

Alstann 04-29-2013 12:30 PM

Hey Spohn, if you do decide to visit them...hold Sam/Mike hostage until they give you a ship date. :D

Dzel 04-29-2013 01:46 PM

How much?

SPOHN 04-29-2013 01:51 PM

Not sure. GTM has a lot of there parts on there website. So that will give you a good idea.

Dzel 04-29-2013 01:57 PM

Go back to GTM Spohn you have given us nothing! Lol

Gotcha. Yeah this is why many prefer external waste gates I suppose.

Is there any reason the HKS electronic boost controller like the evc 6 will NOT work with this internal wastegates?

I want to be able to adjust between 8-11psi.

Yes, the HKS EVC 6 will work wonderfully with the internal wastegates.

The standard option for our 3" downpipes with external wastegates is for open dump. Keep in mind that the 3" downpipes end where the cat-back begins. There is no need to worry about boost creep with the 2.5" test pipes and the 18g's.

Yes, it is an extra cost option for recirculating.

lol We'll be giving an accurate ship date and that requires knowing when every little detail will be ready. There are still a few unknowns right now as to when a couple items will be ready to go. Once we have that information, we'll be announcing it. We are shooting for sometime in June/July. We'll firm it up once we know when everything will be ready though.

Footloose301 04-29-2013 02:44 PM

Thanks for clearing up my question about the boost controller. Also, June/July sounds good so I can grab some goodies to go with the kit

SPOHN 04-29-2013 04:00 PM

My goodies came in today so they will be just sitting here.......waiting. I do think I'm going to pick up the GTM fans and shroud.

It difinitly should IMO. The CSF is the same as stock just twice as thick.

I may have to add those to my list now... Damn it Spohn, you do nothing to curb my spending!!! Gauges are F'n expensive too, holy crap. Someone would do well to make a Defi gauge group buy lol. Especially with the huge influx of boosted Z's.

Footloose301 04-29-2013 07:10 PM

Agreed. I want gauges but holy cow!!!

If you think the gauges are expensive, then brace yourself for the cost of installing them.

You guys need to save some money and install them yourself.:tiphat:

Alstann 04-29-2013 10:15 PM

June/July is perfect - enough time this summer to prep the car for turbo, and get some extra funds for emergencies. ^^

Got myself a nice deal on a Prosport Halo wideband. ;) And installing yourself is the fun part! It's the best feeling to finish an install, start the car, and hear it roar perfectly.

SPOHN 04-30-2013 05:43 AM

A month ago I could of cared less about being boosted. Now I wanted it yesterday. This great price by GTM and remembering when I had my boosted 350Z.

Same here. At least this time I know it's not going to cost me double the price of the kit and the kit will work.

Where are you planning on installing the gauge? im stock nav, so im interested in seeing where people are putting aftermarket gauges (who not interested in ripping the dash apart lol)

MX52Z 04-30-2013 09:31 AM

I'd like to replace the stock clock with a combo wideband/boost gauge.
