I've seen a couple built 350s that spent all this money on their build, but wouldn't budge for a $500 oil cooler kit. Eventually they ended up spinning a rod bearing. That's the easy out way. Worst case, you snap a rod, disintegrate a piston and need a whole new block because you have a hole the size of an apple.

It's not worth it to run without one.

Thats what I am trying to get at people that have one already, and would need a full kit minus the oil cooler.

The 350's at least had a factory oil cooler it was air to water one though better than nothing.

They didn't run as hot as the 370's because of this

TT power at a fraction of the cost and easy install? can't wait to see reviews when it is completed and installed by some members. TT is way too pricey for me, this may be interesting.

The oil cooler is made to work with the oil filter relocation kit which will be standard with the turbo kit. If you already have an oil cooler kit, you would have to find a way to make it work with the oil relocation kit. It is all made to work together.

A tuner kit will also be available, for those that do not wish to have the fuel pump, injectors, and Uprev as a part of the kit.

Pricing is still TBD.

Perhaps you could give a credit for already having your own oil cooler core but still provide the appropriate lines to and form the oil relocation kit. For instance I already have the Z1 34 row cooler which will be plenty big enough for this turbo kit. I don't want to have to scrap my existing 34 row core....

I understand that, but I would be guessing on length, fitting type on each end of the hose(straight, 45, or 90 degree), and fitting size. I don't like to guess.

I have stillen gen 3's, can you fab up your kit to work with those? The pipes look almost identical!

In all seriousness, if a $500 oil cooler is going to hold you back then FI is probably a venture you should not take. If its one thing I have learned from this build is that you always need something else to support, whether its new tires, clutch, sensors ect...

OR.. You can sell the oil cooler, take the $100 loss and enjoy some boost

I hope the stock '12 oil cooler wont cause an issue for the relocation kit....removing it isnt a big deal but it would be nice to not have to

Oh and sorry corbin! my bad lol

Sasha, would you suggest the new 3" exhaust from FI over the one the donor car already had installed?

For those that have coolers already, I may have a solution. Push on hose and fittings like this:

I can supply the hose, and fittings. All one would have to do is cut it to size, and and push it on to the fitting. Fittings look like this without the hose:

Still have the -AN ends, so it will work with all oil coolers. I would just have to know what size the -AN inlet is on the cooler. Pretty simple.

Keeping it simple!

well the '12's use the same filter as the ones without the cooler. The plate is only about 1-1 1/2" thick so it just pushes the filter back a bit. Thats about it though. If thats the case, the relocation kit hose just needs to be 2-3" longer at max to be safe that it reaches and everyone can just trim to fit but good to know!

To be honest that is a bit of an overkill. You will find a lot of supra guys for example using a single 3" exhaust to make 600whp, and 3.5" single to get well in to the 800's. Dual 3" on a stock block Z is way more than anybody would ever need IMO. Dual 2.5" exhaust will flow more than a single 3.5" as it has a greater combined surface area than a single 3.5" pipe.

The oil filter relocation kit that I include has to be used with this kit. From there it would only be two oil lines to whatever cooler you have. One line would go from the new oil filter flange "out" port to the oil cooler inlet, and then from the oil cooler outlet back to the new plate where the OEM filter used to sit.

Don't know, the car is not tuned yet, so it can't be driven hard enough to get the oil temperatures too high.

From the sounds of it, it wont be an issue at all for the stock cooler. If you haven't seen one yet its just a normal sandwhich water cooled cooler. Here are some pics of it and maybe you can chime in whether it would be an issue or not.

nice to see someone developing a kit that is user friendly and tries to create work arounds for people who have different mods to keep price down
