Just read through all this... constructive thread and I agree with the conclusions regarding J SPEC AUTOMOTIVE. I'm not going to slam the guy, because as was stated he went through a rough patch with personal issues recently, but I do not recommend his shop at this point. I will say that there was definitely a comedy of errors on my car that cost me and others involved a chunk of change. Root cause = even professionals need to follow instructions! I've detailed this a bit on my journal, will update it further as I have more to share.

I have no input on HP Logic. Haven't worked with them.

My car is being reworked at Z Fever. I have confidence in their shop... it is not a visually impressive shop but the guys that work there are solid. The owner Doug is a busy guy but always takes / returns my calls promptly. They had the difficult initial task of figuring out what the last shop did wrong... Then tearing down the ruined engine. Installing new engine, piecing it all back together and tuning. I've challenged them to tune to no more than 385whp cold... the preliminary tune looks mediocre because they were trying to detune to my target with the smaller pulley... they will swap to larger pulley tomorrow and I should have a final dyno plot to share this week.

As I've mentioned elsewhere... Z Fever is also developing a solution for our fuel starvation... it's going to be a winner of a product!

as most of you know I was having the same issues that WOW had with the misfires and such. I to went to Z Fever today and from what I saw I had the same issues with the injectors not being scaled, stock timing and the such. after about 4 hours we had the car running right. ended up making 431 at 6psi. the car runs great now and feel much better about getting on the gas. They were also able to dignose the limp mode problem I was having. it seems that the air intakes were put on wrong. they were placed in front of the radiator instead of being off under the drivers headlight causing a ram air effect. this excess air was causing the computer to go wild because it was getting air when it didnt need it thus placing the car in a safe mode. I just flipped it around and hope this fixes the issue. I will report back on that but from just using a piece of cardboard and a high flow fan we could tell a difference in the air fuel. All in all I am very pleased with all the guys at Z fever. attached is a video they shot while I was there not the clearest but still fun to watch all the same.

No response from hp logic or jnaut explains it all.

That's usually how it goes down, they just hope to brush everything under the rug and just hope it goes away... Then the next unsuspecting customer walks in and it'll be déjà vu all over again..

When it comes to FI thas when u hear the horror stories... Anyone talkin about doing an NA tune with them is jus blowing smoke as there's not much to worry bout blowing something in NA.

Martin at z fever is the one you would want to use as far as tuning in the area. I had mine tuned by him after the problems with hp and Jnaut and have not had a problem. I was tuned in summer of 2012 and still running strong.

Call and schedule ahead of time. Martin only works on an as needed basis now for tuning. no longer works full time @ the shop.

What is up with the whole ECUTEK craze? UPREV has proven capable time and time again, but tuners are lazy (as shown in this thread of all places) and either don't know the capabilities or don't know how to utilize them. I had my car tuned by a very competent tuner, but he wasn't very familiar with the UPREV software so it sucked. I later took the car DIRECTLY to UPREV and Omar squared it away. Reading goes a long way...........especially when you can learn from mistakes others have made.

I am not knocking ECUTEK in any way. Just remember there are others out there as well that can work in place of or in tandem with the stock ECU.

uprev is very capable but it cant do a lot of stuff that ecutek offers. Uprev needs to step their game up now b4 ecutek takes over the whole platform.
