so are you for sure running the carb tune?
is the carb tune the same as some one out of the state of california would get if they got a packaged tune/kit from you? and has it been proven to be reliable?

i would hate to purchase this kit with the expectation that this kit will pass carb testing only to find out the tune was not carb approved and that a carb approved tune causes issues similar to what you experienced with the Stillen kit.

i have no complaints even if it's not a carb kit. it drives good, performs fantastic! i'll worry about the emissions/smog check later when time comes.

This kit is so low key that the visual inspection for SMOG shouldn't be a big deal at all. Just throw the stock cats back on and you will easily pass even without a GTM 'Carb' tune.

hehe, you must not have heard this kit in person, it might pass the visual not the nice sound the blower and bpv makes. unless that technician has hearing problems lol.

Haha, this is true. I need to drive out to GTM one of these days to check out their shop and products, my eventual plan is stage 2 SC kit. Screw you CA, I like my power!

ha, whoever thinks that srt8 was keeping up is sorely mistaken. u can hear the srt get on the throttle way before the z and it still had no chance. nice build guys, sound awesome! keep up all the great work you doing.

You may think this is a dumb question, but were you able to keep the chassis damper up front? I am set on going with a GTM kit, but I thought I was dead set on goung TT. Looks like I will just wait on the Stage 2 and make my comparison at that time. Hell, I have until next summer to make a choice.

BTW......awesome job Sam.....

yeah, unfortunately the car i'm about to buy is out of state and I will be required to smog every two years so my decision is based on that.
can someone from gtm comment on whether weiboys car will currently pass smog or not and whether it has the carb tune or a custom tune?

i read through pretty much every page of the other thread on your stillen experience and it sounds like you only stuck to the carb tunes that were not working. which pretty much turned me off on the stillen kit. but if you are not running a carb tune on the gtm kit, couldn't you have just done a custom tune on teh stillen kit to make it perform the way you want it to and then worry about it later as you say with like you are going to do with this gtm kit you have on now? probably would have saved you tons of time and money sticking to what you had.

mike@gtm already stated very clearly that our stage 1 kit isn't the carb kit nor they Will try and get it. You can get their stage 0 which is still pending for carb approval.

I did try to ask a few tuners in the area about a custom tune for my STillen kit. Nobody wanted to do it. They're capable just didn't want to risk blowing up my engine. So, really. WHat options do I have? I'm sure nobody wanted to throw away a few G's for no reason.

oh right, didn't know you had the stage 1 kit. i probably wouldn't care either if i didn't have to smog for 6 years. will most have to go for a in state purchase then as well to take advantage of the 6 year exemption.

i'm in the outer sunset.

you should come and check out the kit. We should be setting up some local meets pretty soon when the weather warms up a bit more
