No, it's my understanding that you need the correct back pressure when using an SC setup. When you significantly change the back pressure, you need to change the tune.

This is a hot topic on this forum. I personally don't agree that you need back pressure to run an SC on any car.

Now I know a turbo will create some of its own back pressure and that is why you can go to a 3 inch full exhaust, so does a SC create its own back pressure too like a turbo?

Nope, its mounted in front of the engine, and has absolutely no direct impact on backpressure.

Then because of this we need to stay at about 2.5 inch for our exhaust but I would think that a HFC will still provide some back pressure unlike testpipes?

Again, I don't believe ANY car with a supercharger installed needs backpressure to operate efficiently. You'll definitely want a 2.5" CBE, though.

I have no idea why, but have read this in several other places besides here. I think I even remember some manufacturers recommending smaller exhaust setups when using SC. Could just be internet rumor, I'll see if I can find out any more info on this.

edit: A blurb about it here:
http://www.alpine-developments.com/d...l%20-%20V1.pdf

but I'm foinding just as much or more about how backpressure doesn't effect it. It's clear something is effecting his power output be it his exhaust, installation, or faulty hardware.
