what are all the people who dont live in CA going to do who cant just drive on down to stillen. It should just be an install ecu reflash and the advertised horsepower + or - 5% for some condition variations. not get it and have problems and wait two extra weeks.
I can understand there frustrations and totally side with them.
Quote:

I can understand there frustrations and totally side with them. But a lot of assumptions are being made. His car is not a standard set up and he's assuming Stillen and not his shop is to blame for his low numbers. If taking it to Stillen fixes it like in weiboy718's case, I'd have to assume that something was installed or setup incorrectly in the first place. If a special tune is need because he has other mods, he can't expect the kit to magically account for that. I guess I'm saying there is a lot of Stillen bashing going on w/o enough evidence that Stillen is even the problem here. I'm also not saying they aren't, just not enough facts to start pointing fingers to date.

^^ Everyone that has installed this kit has had promblems and no one is close to the advertised power except stillens cheerleader rcz. Lets see some dynos that have made the numbers stillen has.
I would agree with this statement^^^^. Their (STILLEN) car had cats with CBE so by removing the cats they should free up some flow and actually gain power off the original canned tune. They might be running a little leaner with LTH or test pipes but for most part the cats are the major restriction in our systems. They could easily have a tune for cats & one with LTH or test pipes and that would cover the rest because that is the only real restriction once you have the kit. Doesnt seem like rocket science to me. Also I am willing to be 95% or more that any of us who bought the TT or SC kits have after market cats, exhaust, intakes etc... Just a thought for a better business plan. Dont get me wrong I like stillen, I chose them after seeing how not so great GTM's TT kits go together for 350z. I know I will be happy with my decision once we have my car tuned and done.

The last time I tried asking to see if I can get HFC and a tune for it the answer is no. We have the carb kit and it's illegal in CA. That's the answer I got lol. So I don't get how can others have HFCs and still good for carb in CA.
They are not and they dont know what they are talking about. You have to have Cats to be carb legal. The cats are the emissions control. HFC are not legal. They have to absorb and reduce so much NOX, CO, CO2 etc. you can only changed the cbe part to meet emissions.
Living in Cali is very easy to get caught now. I even heard CHP officers have a device to measure your cats temp lol. Last year I got pulled over for just having my CBE. Cop didn't even hear it whether its loud or not. He say my tips are too big then asked me to pop my hood. Luckily I was all stock at that time. But yeah, things got really strict here recently. Hopefully we get the CARB sticker asap!
No, it's my understanding that you need the correct back pressure when using an SC setup. When you significantly change the back pressure, you need to change the tune.
This is a hot topic on this forum. I personally don't agree that you need back pressure to run an SC on any car.
Now I know a turbo will create some of its own back pressure and that is why you can go to a 3 inch full exhaust, so does a SC create its own back pressure too like a turbo?
