I don't have that problem yet, but I'm in the works of heading that way. I won't push over 650whp for at least another year. I just spent $15k on a setup and would really like to drive it for a year first. But by the time I'm ready, I really do think this will have proved itself.

Yeap, if you open up a channel and log Coolant pressure we can get lots more data on the problem. No need for all this damn guessing.
You can't do that with Ecuteck or Uprev. I may wait and get my Motec up and running before I do anything.

Hmm, something was wrong with your tune then. Too much timing. I would use a different tuner. My .02cts

Theres been a lot of talk about those lately. I think theres a few guys with builds in the works with them. Hopefully it works out in the long term. 1000hp is hilariously easy for a VQ to make, if only they could hold it for a day.

Why are you saying I need a stand-alone?

[QUOTE=hustleman222;3894387] With all that money you’re throwing into that motor. I don’t believe Ecu tek or uprev is the best option. If you have a gtr it would be a different story with Ecu tek. Why wouldn’t you want to protect your 15k investment. Real traction control, real boost control, all the safety features, tuning capabilities.

I agree, You cant put down all the power in first or second anyways. You need to control the boost in first, ramp up in second and full out in third. I will be investing after I rebuild my engine.

My question was a bit vague. I’ll rephrase it, I want the ability to mat it in 1st-3rd on street tires without roasting the tires. Closest thing that my car will see to drag racing is 1/2 mile roll racing. My car build is directly around road racing, the less I have to think and/or to do on the track the more I can concentrate on laying down faster lap times. The most advance race cars in the world use motec or some other type of stand-alone for TC. For me, I’ve not seen any body take the factory Ecu to any heights that would hold me back from wanting a stand alone. I hope others tuners within the next year or so can come up with something other then flamp maps, pops and bang tunes.

You care to take a picture of your knock sensitivity, just for my curiosity.

I dont see why you couldnt log coolant pressure with ECUTEK. Could probably bring that in through the fuel temp sensor wire. I dont know if I see large benefits to it. You can sort of consider the coolant blasting out of the overflow as your peak hold gauge for that.
