Billet VQ37HR block.

I just sent an email to MazworX.com to see if they would be interested in making a Billet block for our VQ37Hr. They already make one for the VQ35DE platform. They make a Wet and Dry version. Guess we will see what happens.
If anyone else has some value to add, please post it here.

I asked them to make me one a couple years ago, they were not interested. If they have changed their feelings on that, let me know, I may interested.

As you probably know, there are several outfits producing VR38 blocks already. They would also be extremely well prepared to machine a HR block; in some ways, the VR38 is more similar to the HR than the DE block is.

Phunk,
I just got an email back. They are interested if we can get a group buy of 5. So, if you are interested we need 3 more people. This can happen.

Sorry, I won't buy from them. I have my reasons and I will leave it at that.

Phunk,
If you know of someone better please investigate.

If you are interested please understand these will not be cheap. I am not sure of the cost but I would expect around 10k.

Subtract GT-R tax, I would brace for around 13-14g with sleeves for a HR block.

Damn that's gonna hurt. But if you trash one motor it will pay for itself, hence why I am at 800hp.

same thing as far as a billet block is concerned

Here are my numbers. Too build a motor with Forged pistons, High quality rods, JWT C2 cams, Suckerpunch oil pump, and new everything you are looking at a minimum of 16k. That does include labor and machine shop bill. IF you buy a Bryant racing crank, etc that is extra. If you pop the motor, you are looking at that and around 1 1/2 yr. wait to get it back on the road. So, a Billet block will actually pay for itself if we can get one built properly and it can take the abuse. Just food for thought.
