I'm ready to dive in :D

Dyno time and tuning is probably not gonna happen this week and will get pushed to next week Thursday/Friday time frame. I have 3 cars in front of me that need complete tunes. They have a couple of things to finish up on before it can hit the dyno. So, don't expect any numbers this week.

Everything is ready to go for tuning next Thursday/Friday. Still a couple of things to do but they won't affect not being able to tune the car.

I have been thinking about what I am going to do with the car. I need a challenge. So, I have heard this statement several times. "The 370z does everything well but is a master of none". I plan to change that. The challenge. Might as well set the bar high.
1.) Run a 9.xx second 1/4 mile pass. Current record, Justin with CJ Motorsports 9.91 @ 142mph. 2.) Do several track days with the car. 3.) Run 170mph at a 1/2 mile event. Current record, Dynosty @ 164.17 4.) Roll race the car at TX2K. That aught to do for a list of challenges. |
Any restriction for this build? Like remaining in street trim? Stock 6 speed?
And what’s the significance of tx2k? |

I’d like to be able to join you & don’t forget the “Texas-Mile”
Unsure if any Z’s have recorded a 1 mile run there? I’m hoping by this time next year,I’ll have something to bring along as well :ugh2: |

It would be cool as hell if we could get SOHO, Dynasty, Specialty Z, MA Motorsports, CJ Motorsports, and Fast Intentions to come out for TX2K. Just bombard them with 10 to 15 TT'd 370z's. We gotta figure out a way to make this happen February 2020. I am in.

We need to do some fast talking at Zdayz to make this TX2K happen next year.

(No need to have the side bars on for normal driving). It's OK for a bolt in. I went with the RPM primarily because Brian at MA-Motorsports wouldn't be able to fabricate a custom one until this coming winter again. Fortunately I don't need to have the seat racked all of the way back so it's not too cramped. One drawback is that it further reduces the already very slim view out the back, making it difficult to back up or even see traffic behind you. A custom roll bar could be fabricated to minimize this by bringing the top hoop forward. I'm considering getting a rear view mirror with the rear camera feature - or going with a Pioneer H/U that has the rear camera feature. Side note here ... I went to the dragstrip and the Inspector told me that NHRA had changed the rules recently and that I didn't need the roll bar until 10.0. He said that NHRA revamped and modernized the rules now that factory cars were running in the 11's and even faster. Next time to the strip and a different Inspector didn't mention the rules changes. Worth checking it out. |
RPM Rollbar
Forgot to add...
The cost quoted to me by Daelen for a custom rollbar by MA-Motorsports would be in the neighborhood of $3500 and $4000. The cost of the RPM was $2100+ and an additional $1700+ for the installation by MA. So - no benefit going with the prefab RPM over the custom MA-M one except for the time savings. |
