Nissan 370Z Forum

what oils are you using with your TT setups

Are you guys saying even with a thermostatic plate, oil temps are not warming up in a timely manner? What's going on?

Well I was talking about the oil temp remaining in spec whenever you’re just cruising down the road and occasional mild “spirited” driving. If I got the hammer down the oil temps go up but when the cooler air is steady on it the temps will drop well under that spec temperature. Which I believe is 180 degrees F. But don’t quote me on that just yet.

As long as you stay above 160 you are good to go. A sandwich will help to a degree. I run without one!

Probably because they have the oil temp sensor in the stock location (post cooler) which isnt ideal. I would see 80/100 degree oil temps in cool weather in this location, i switched the sensor pre cooler and saw 170/180 degree temps. This happens because the oil gets overcooled when the plate is closed>limited flow to the cooler and when it mixes with the oil going back to the block you see really cool temps. Anyone else experience this too?
