Awesome! Topgunz, hurry up and get the kit to me! Can't wait to get this going!

brucelidat 04-28-2017 02:55 PM

I am pretty excited TopgunZ's coming SC kit. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

mikey1600 05-04-2017 01:21 PM

My kit arrived but few things to get still (haven't even unboxed it yet :O), need to get fuel system from Phunk and send my charger away to be upgraded

If we upgrade to Si trim + already have the 9psi pulley on and want more boost, which should we be getting?

I'm going E85 route so wanna crank it up a bit, happy to go around 15 psi

Don't forget that they best way to go to 9psi is to change the drive pulley on the SC. You can order the 2.85 pulley directly from Vortec.

https://vortechsuperchargers.com/col...ant=7811182081

You will also need to go up in size for the idler pulley to get the correct tension on the belt. Still with the added idler it is way cheaper than what Stillen charges.

Just found the SC belt idler pulley that is needed when you go to the 9psi SC pulley. Use the NAPA 36112 part.

Doing the serp side pulleys will give you a bit more boost. Other than that, the only way you can get more boost is by going with a smaller sc pulley and overspinning the blower or removing your air filter. You won't get near 15psi though. I'd also keep in mind that boost works differently in a sc setup than a turbo.

By taking the filter off you will get close to 15. I got to 14.5psi. However, that is not recommended for motor health.

Talk to StillenZ84. He was making 560whp and is going for 600.

StillenZ84 05-05-2017 08:02 PM

Yeah taking the filter off obviously allows more dust and debris into the motor and shouldn't be done if you daily drive your Z, unless you like to party I guess. I for example will have a "race tune" as one map tuned with the filter off and will also have a map for daily driving where its tuned with the filter on. Just be careful trying something that the stock block might not be able to handle. I figured that out a few months back. Should get me car back next weekend and for sure shooting for huge numbers.

Yeah went for 13.5 psi and it didn't work out too well on the stock block.

Oh no
Mines making 10 I think ill leave it there can't afford a built motor.

TopgunZ 05-06-2017 08:06 PM

I thought the reason it let go is due to a mishift, overrev, boom.....?

Kzonts 05-07-2017 05:25 AM

Shouldn't the rev limiter take care of that?

dboi941 05-07-2017 01:52 PM

I am having a problem with the Tial bov staying open at idle and air is just blowing out, Is this normal?
It doesn't seem normal to me, Is there a fix for this? Different spring?
Thanks for any help.

My trans got hung up in a gear and as I was limping it to the gas station to turn my car off and back on to fix it, it downshifted from 3rd to 1st going 40 and right when it hit redline it went boom.

Can anyone help identify this noise its either the jack shaft or the charger I think I hoping the charger doesn't need a full refurb

Sc is still spinning at idle. Air has to go somewhere.

I know Im a noob but just wanted to be sure! lol

TBatt 05-08-2017 08:18 AM

Manifold vacuum is what opens the BOV. If the throttles are closed (or barely open) the manifold vacuum goes up and that is what pulls the BOV open. So, at idle it should be open as well as steady cruise speed.

We were all noobs at one time, except maybe TopZ.........

How about running a screen over an Inlet bell or Velocity Stack?

brucelidat 05-16-2017 01:40 PM

Topgunz

Are you going to beat on the kit once it's done for some stress testing before releasing it?

I've actually thought about this. I'm going to see if I can chip away at the RAD support, so I can slip my filter off without having to pull the blower off.

I'd then run a velocity stack for the strip, since I heard screens do some funky stuff with the airflow.

Wanting to upgrade to the tial BOV, where are people sourcing them and the parts to work with TopgunZ Kit?

TBatt 05-16-2017 03:29 PM

I bought mine at Jegs.

TiAL Sport QRJ 38mm Blow-Off Valves | JEGS

VerociousMS has a good selection too.

TiAL QRJ Boost Control Diverter Valves, Flanges Adapters

nic370 05-16-2017 03:35 PM

Anyone know what the v3 weight is minus the bracket I need to ship to vortech from uk

Items needed:
Tial QRJ - $216
Tial 50mm Q/QR V-Band Adapter - $9
Tial V-Band Clamp (make sure you get the right one) - $35
Tial 1.5" Exhaust side hose fitting - $10
2.5" Pipe section with Tial Flange welded in - $20

If you have the older version of the L pipe (2.5") then you will need two 2.5" silicone couplers and also two more T-bolt clamps. $25

Might also want to get those silicone connectors in the "hump" style as the 45* coupler off the sc to that L pipe didnt fit as good as the new design with the 60* and 2.75" L pipe.

For others looking at getting the kit, I really only sell the kits with the Tial BPV option now for $275 more where it costs about $40 more down the road to upgrade. (which I dont think I will offer)

Yes I will. This project is going to take a little longer than expected. I already had a guy bail on me after we came to an agreement on a price for his car. I had the check ready then he disappeared. People suck.

Im trying to get some scans in this weekend.

brucelidat 05-16-2017 04:17 PM

No problem, I'm in no rush. having surgery Friday and won't be able to drive the Z for 6+ weeks after that, maybe longer.

I just ordered a Velocity Stack from Summit...Gonna test it out and see how it runs.

.

nic370 05-19-2017 06:39 PM

Yeah so this happend!
What are you guys doing about the fitment of the filter.?
I made a gasget from the stillen boot and somehow it came lose and the supercharger has eaten it filling my intercooler With shrapnel and rubber and breaking several blades on the impeller.

The supercharger is on route to vortech now souks be there Monday
Ams I've manned to clean most of the intercooler out worryingly I didn't find much in the way of the blades more Rubber
The car runs fine so I think I may have been lucky and the intercooler has stopped a lot of the mess  https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ce2bc614bf.jpg

Sorry to see this. All kits ship with a spacer/gap reducer that is in the filter box and the instructions (with pictures) state to use it. Wondering how you ended up making your own....?

It might have slipped to the bottom of the box, under the filter so when you pulled the filter out you tossed it out with the box. It is just held on by the clamp but it fits on there good enough that it should never cause a problem with working its way out.

Did you do your own install? Just curious because there is an individual big picture of it in the instructions. It's pretty hard to overlook.
