Hey TopgunZ how do you release the tensioner for the belts except by jacking it up and going at it from below?

TopgunZ 11-27-2017 06:39 PM

You don't need to take the whole bracket off. Just the sc.

You can get at either tensioner from above. Either use a 3/8 drive breaker bar (need at least 2' for enough force to move tensioner) for the serpentine tensioner or use a 9/16 (I believe) crowfoot with some extensions, and electrical tape to hold the crowfoot on, to turn the SC tension bolt. You'll have to forcibly move some coolant hoses out of the way (not disconnecting them) to get to the serp tensioner.

It is much easier to get both from below.

Do the impellers on the si superchargers look different than the sci's? Can you take a pic of the si sc impeller and post it?

Here you go. Another small but nice feature about these new units is the steel braided oil drain line is coated in a clear sheathing. I must have donated at least 20 separate finger drops of blood when dealing with my old unit.

Finally got a hold of 928 on the phone yesterday and the supercharger should be getting sent back to me with refund minus shipping. I wish communication was better because I would have rather sent them a new shaft and completed the build but I'm just going to take the full kit from Aaron anyways and leave that one as a backup in case the one in the kit goes pop (although if it's the Si with the 2.85" pulley I think my motor would be the first to go). Which pulley is coming with it? I was going to go with the 3" and Si to start but I'm up for whatever.

TopgunZ 11-28-2017 10:21 AM

The kit will have a 3.20" serp side high grip pulley with a special new mod for more added grip. This will virtually eliminate slip on the serp side. Now the SC side will have a 2.95/3.47 combo and will not slip. This coupled with the Si trim will make around 550whp.

Is this estimate based upon e85 or 93 octane?

TopgunZ 11-28-2017 11:40 AM

93 Octane. It also depends on the tuner. Some tuners know these VQ motors much better than others and can make some great numbers.

If anyone needs a 4 bar map sensor for one of these new TopgunZ supercharger kits PM me. I have a brand new one I bought from Visconti Tuning that I didn't need

Questions for those in the know.
Do I need the plug and play adapters and wiring kit for the 1050x and walbro 450 if I get the CJM S1.E fuel system? You can get the 3/8' output hose for the Walbro 450 so are the adapters and wiring kit for the injectors? Stupid questions, sorry

You will need wiring adapters for the ID1050X. You will be splicing in the wiring for the pump into OEM wiring in the pump basket. (or outside the pump basket if using the CJM Top Hat)
TopZ has the best price (BY FAR) on the 1050X.

If you order the Walbro with the "universal install kit" it will come with a connector for the pump to splice into your OEM wiring, but any way you go there will be some splicing.

BTW, CZP has a great price on the 450... $99 shipped with install kit, $78 shipped without. It is the 267 model, I think CJM sells the high pressure 274 model (which is more expensive).

Where’d you get your south bend so cheap? I didnt see it that cheap during black Friday. Wish u didnt put cumulative total at bottom best not to think! Thats over half what i paid for my car!

Senna-F1 12-05-2017 11:36 AM

I too didn't see any deals for the clutch. Thought I just might be missing it. So I asked about it and got 8% off.

There might be more to come. Shipping for the kit? There is also no labor. Hoping to do it myself, including clutch.

Boost isn’t cheap. Most of us have over $20k in the build.

For sure, i knew i was screwed when i learned how easily i could spend 5k without even touching performance mods. Just try to pay ago and *la la blah* the idea of how much im spending. Hey the car + boost is still a good 15k cheaper than a supra though

Soho is doing a whole video and write up on it sorry I haven’t really figured out how to post pictures here. But just like Evan I did over 700hp to the wheels and it’s a beast.

TopgunZ 12-11-2017 09:14 PM

Whooop!! Great numbers! Good thing I have a ton of these in the making. 14 to be exact. 2 leaving the shop tonight and the stand alone kit is ready. Just need to take pics.

Wow, great numbers! You smashed SOHO's projected numbers. What pulleys did you end up using and what was your psi?

TopgunZ 12-13-2017 11:25 AM

I would like to point out that I will not take payment in full until kits are in my shop and ready to box/ship out. This means that I will not ask for payment up front and then "begin" to build the kit. These kits will be off the shelf sales and not build to order.

That goes for the A2A and new SC kits.

This is why I have several thousands of dollars worth of Superchargers on the shelf.

I wish....

But that means I would consume even more beer, which could be bad...

Chuck33079 12-13-2017 11:57 AM

Then I'm even more impressed. That's a hell of a lot of work.

brucelidat 12-13-2017 12:04 PM

This is the SC kit Z owners have been waiting for, affordable, great power, and not dangerous for your engine like some other mainstream kit out there.

Not near as much work as my 1 year old is. He is a tyrant that destroys everything in his path.

Chuck33079 12-13-2017 12:21 PM

Now I'm even more confused. You've got a day job and a 1 year old, and you still have time to do all of this. You're making me feel seriously unproductive. :rofl2:

...AND he his by far the most active and responsive of all the kit makers. I’m excited and hope it’s a very successful kit.

It always amazes me that our tunners/shops don't put some effort into comming up with kits here in the UK where we have a serious lack of available stuff

Awesome work topz
