Great source of info about turbo and supercharging. No less than two places in there it states that air temperature must be measured post cooler as close to the intake manifold as possible. Way to go TopgunZ!

If you really want to understand the how and whys of boost, this is a must read! It is also well written and easy to understand the concepts presented.

Not read that one but I highly recommend Corky Bell's Maximum Boost too. It's for turbos but I think he made a SCer book too.

One of the other books loaned to me is "TURBO Real World High-Performance Turbocharger Systems", by Jay K. Miller. It is very technical and includes lots of design aspects of building your own system. I mostly read the parts covering the compressor side of turbos which basically what a SC system is, just at lower rpm. Turbo compressors turn over 100K while sc turns well under that and needs to be sized accordingly. This book also has some great info on aftercoolers (the correct term that we should be using).

Thanks JWillis72. Mine, being a fair weather driver, will not see max boost too often.....but it will see it!

My Vortec pulleys came in today. I have a 3.4 and a 2.95 to play with. Between the stock 3.2 I might be able to find the 9-10 range.

go to the vortech calculator and figure out the numbers, I think the 2.95 with all the others stock should be about the max.

Thanks! Will check it out.

I have seen several people not getting the boost they were expecting with the stock kit. Some are only getting just over 7 psi. I'm aiming for 9 psi.

Anyway, that is for the tuner to work out based on what we see at WOT. Having the extra pulleys on hand will allow us to experiment.

Yes I believe so. This is the model that was recommended by Topgunz. The Tial QRJ with the 1.5 psi spring and 50mm flange.

Did you ever figure out what belt size to use?

Do you have a part number? I'm at Napa right now and they are telling me they have nothing that small.
