300k's on supercharger after Si upgrade and it's completely seized up, won't move, anyone else had this happen? I've rang the Australian distributor here and I have to send the unit back to them for inspection, surely it's something wrong with the install of the new components/bearings?

Anyone else had this happen?

had previously done 40,000k's on the unit before upgrades..

Hi Mikey, I'm getting my SC upgraded with the ceramic bearings, seals and impeller through my normal workshop at present. I'don't know if they're doing themselves or sending it elsewhere. I'd hate to experience the same problem as you just have.

Who is the Australian distributor you mention?

I did the same thing not too long ago.
Luckily I found a local mobile mechanic willing to do it for me for a good price.
His work was flawless. The clearance between the 928 impeller and the outer edge is perfect.

Just make sure you don't lose the small rectangular key that goes into the Supercharger to keep the pulley from spinning or you may lose boost I think.

When we opened mine...my key thing fell out so we were like wow I was loosing boost probably the entire time!!
Also, my outer edge impeller blade (circular part) got chipped -- not sure where the chipped piece went or how long it was chipped for, but it is now replaced with the 928 impeller along with high speed bearings and such.

Yay!

Good luck with your install and I hope all goes well.

CAPA is the Aussie distributor for Vortex who it was sent to, will get it off the car next week and sent back to them to inspect what happened

The key on the external shaft pulley is either in there or it isnt. If it fell out then it was in there and the mechanics of it are impossible for it to have not locked the pulley into place. You were not loosing boost.

Hey guys just to clarify, I need to make a cut for the charge pipe right? Anyone worked around it? I have long tube intakes already but I would need to re-route piping to get the charge pipe down there and may still need to fab and that would be extra piping.
Just curious what people have done before I whip out the dremel since what I’m cutting is pretty sturdy/possibly structural.
I think that’s the only cut i have to make but could be wrong since blower isn’t on yet.

Where is best place to put wideband? Where Y pipe joins I suppose after cats/TP’s? And for flex fuel tuning is it best to start off full e85? Car show this weekend hope install is done and waiting on base map from Seb tryin to not bother him too much just hoping car is good enough to drive to mountains

I just had Specialty Z install my 2.85" supercharger pulley. My old numbers with the 9lb pulley were 541whp 440 torque @ 10 psi. My new numbers with the 2.85 pulley addition are 586whp 486 torque @ 12.86 psi.

Wow is that just with Si impeller or did you change the jackshaft as well?

Jackshaft is stock. If I was strictly running e85 I would have had the 3.47 jackshaft installed but I'm on flex fuel (91 octane). Seb had to dial back the timing on 91 as it is on 12.86 boost.
