Hoods aluminium, it can't rust.

Street "racing" I can't get over 218 degrees. I'd say thats pretty good data with only the OEM oil cooler.

What were your temps hitting when you were "racing" before the hood mod?

What I'm talking about was a trip down to southern ohio, kinda like the dragon in Virginia. I hadn't gone down there before or did that much fast driving before the mod. But I remember when bedding in my brakes I was over 220 with the hood stock. And from everyone else who canyon runs I've read they can get up to 260.

Props for what you did. I keep thinking about this but no balls to cut lol.

Again most will hurt instead of help. The designs aren't there.

I hate CF, and by the time I buy a CF and paint it, big money on a hood that does not vent and no fitment issues with OEM hood... and most they are too flashy and heavier, this is simple and clean, one could even paint the mesh body color to blend it. To each their own! Not to mention cost effective. Its in my to do list! I guess rust was the wrong terminology, it will build corrosion here in PA if your not careful, bt true it will not rust like steel.

Aluminum will corrode and form an aluminum oxide which prevents further corrosion, you will be fine.

This could be a good idea for me or anyone else who buys the whipple kit when it gets finished.

I cut some smaller vents into mine same time as the SC install and could cook a chicken over the heat that comes out of them.
