Default Clear Bra install in So Cal - $1250, really?

Called my local clear bra installer today and was quoted $1250 for the entire hood, front fenders and mirrors for my Nismo. This seems somewhat high to me being that the install on my G37 (bumper, half hood, mirrors and rocker panels) was around 500 bucks.

Would you guys happen to know of any good clear bra installers in the Orange or Riverside county areas with competitive pricing?

Thanks

no way. from what i remember...everything in socal is cheaper, especially tint/clear bra wise! theres just so much competition down there. just for reference..i paid 800 i think (its been so long...i honestly dont know anymore) for my nismo, custom cut and everything: entire front bumper/splitter, entire hood, a-pillars, mirrors, half fender, and front part of the rear fender

That sounds a bit high, would expect to be more around the $1K mark, I bet it's that "full hood" that's bringing up the price, the installer probably needs to order a roll of film in that width so he's charging you for extra raw materials cost i bet. Shop around, you'll probably be able to find a better deal, but just be sure to get a good installer, applying clear bra is as much an art as it is a science.

yep...the local specialty shop that caters to the high end exotic car crowd here in the bay area "only" wanted 1K to do what i posted above. however, i found its do-able around the 800 dollar range with the same quality at other places

I will do it for $300.

I can't guarantee my work since I have no idea what I'm doing though

Prices in SoCal vary wildly...as does the quality. I went with Premier in Anaheim (Premier Protective Films International (aka Premier Mobile) clear bra, paint protection film, tint, auto tint, safety film, chip paint, kits, custom, car) - and they charged me about what you were quoted. That said, it was a full custom job (not pre-cut) - and you can't see the seams - they rolled the film everywhere possible.

If you have a set budget - just do some research and find a shop with good reviews that fits your needs.

clear bra costs that much? I was looking at a 997-S and the dealer had a clear bra installer that would do it for $435. He did it on another car and it came out amazing. This was in VA though..
