Ok if i get a new hood with scoops and cuts and stuff, and it rains...where or what hardware is needed to drain it away from the engine bay...?

Good discussion. I'm thinking of a seibon ts hood. But I worry about water getting into the engine compartment and rotting or rusting things

Exactly my concerns also, its just theirs a hood on the car for a reason, probably to keep water and other harmful things out of the engine.

Some cars like Subies and Evo's have detachable panels that attach under the vents... I'm not sure Seibon does this for the 370z models, but I dunno who does make them?

Well, I think we have to understand that driving a car with hood vents in the rain isn't like taking a couple 5-gallon buckets of water and dumping them in the engine bay. It's pretty warm on the engine ... the minimal amount of rain that gets in evaporates relatively quickly. Also, I can't speak for specific hoods, but many of the aftermarket ones I have looked at in the past (for other cars) have some form of water management system.
Although, it will get much dirtier under there. |

How do you wash the engine? Water or do you need some sort of steamer?

Edit: But if you're going to do it, do not dump water on it. Cleaning the engine bay is a .... hand job. |

Everytime I look up the hood it talks about one sheet of carbon fiber and rolled edges but I haven't seen anything about rain guards.
