DIY: DIY: Adding In-Cabin air filter to the 370Z

Gross. The Fram CF10157 (from Amazon.com) I put in is tons better quality and much sturdier it seems. Fits a wee bit tighter but its great. Took ten minutes to do.

Last pic on the right is the Fram in the packaging with the carbon and baking soda impregnated filter.

2. I have a '10 also, did yours come with one stock, or was that a previous one you had bought? I need to get one myself cause I'm tired of all the dust n sh!t in my car in Phoenix.

They don't come with one from the factory? Or they do, and it's just good to change it after so many thousand miles -- what was interval for you?

All the 2010 and newer Zs have cabin air filters, the '09s do not. The replacement interval is largely based on what environment you live in, however the manual recommends replacing it every 15,000 miles.

Kind of stupid question, but did you have to pull out the whole glove box to get to the filter?
I put one in my '09 and I was wondering if there was an easier way that I was missing.

As soon as the OP posts a link for that filter he got, I'm ordering one. Im at 14k now so might as well swap it out and I know I should probably have done it sooner but oh well lol

Sorry for the late reply here!

1. Yes I had to pull the whole glove box out. Was a 15 min job start to finish to install, taking my time.

2. The Nissan part number in the pic is correct but trust me when I say its a piece of flimsy paper and is not worth putting a new one in, especially since Nissan charges like $30-$40 for one for just the part.

PS - A fun note about Amazon.com is that you can test out their Prime free two-day shipping for a month when you order and get the filter on your door in two days. Then once the order is placed, immediately go to your account options for Prime shipping and say "Do Not Auto-Renew or Activate" and then it cancels it as of the next day going forward. BUT, you still get your free two day shipping that one time.

only works once but I got mine in two days at no additional charge, its great!

Not to my knowledge, should be identical, the dealer just did not put one in from the factory for the 09's but the place for it to go is there.
