There is no difference in the camera, it is just the package of mounts that come with it that vary slightly between packages.

FYI there is a new firmware out that allows for flipped video recording which is useful in situations where you had to mount the camera upside down.

There is also a new LCD back accessory that lets you preview and read the cryptic settings menu. Battery pack accessory is also out to double your recording time.

For the 3D fans - it's not out yet but coming soon!

So has anyone found a mount to use on the interior support bar? I think that would be the best location for recording during track events.

It's not a very good mount location for this camera as it is such wide angle. You would mostly end up with a view of the seats.

Looks like a customized mount off the seat headrest or the rear glass. Even at that the view of the windshield is less than 25% of your frame. The idea is to get as much view of the track as possible while still including the drivers hands somehow.

I haven't found the ideal spot yet. Dash works well for view but then you can't see your hands. Side of the car gets the hands and a decent view of the track but then you pick up a lot of noise and can't hear conversation from inside the car.

Yeah, after looking at it again, I think it is off of the rear hatch. I haven't looked at the camera's features yet, but is there any lense zoom? If so, I think that spot + zooming in a little would work pretty good.

Like you said, looking to get a position where you can see the road and the drivers hands, as well as hearing any conversation in the car.

Regardless, I need to buy one of these!

AWESOME RUN Chris! loved it! Love the camera angle and location. Can you take a picture of the location where you mounted the GO PRO? Also, what software are you using to edit the video (and retain full screen)?

They probably used the suction cup to mount it hanging from the hatch glass, that is much higher up that the rear bar.

I actually like that angle you have Chris, I'm going to do this the next time we finish a build here.

We shot this video from the windshield. I wanted to get just a tiny bit of the hood in the frame, but I didn't screw down one of the joints properly. You'll see what I mean. Video quality is top drawer though:

Should there be any concern of that suction cup losing grip on the car? That would be a concern of mine when mounting it outside of the car.

As long as the surface is clean and flat, I would not worry about it falling off. Be sure to only use the goprosuction cup mount as it is very sturdy and tested to 200mph I believe. I tried another brand suction cup for cameras and it doesn't compare at all.

I've ran mine on the windshield, side window, and rear bumper on 2 vehicles with no problems

I've tested mine up to about 130mph, I've seen others take it higher. Just make sure both surfaces are clean and smooth and give it the old spit wipe before applying.

If anyone is looking for a gopro HD and can wait a few weeks for it, go to buydig.com and enter gopro25 for 25% off. I bought mine there the other day.
