Cracked/peeling dash?

I use 303 Protectant.

op wat were u using to clean the dash?

most of the time all i do is mist Griot's SpeedShine into a mf towel and dust off the interior. once a year i'd use Prima Nero to dress it up.. and this is a diluted 50/50 with water mix even. no cracks. my 11 yr old G and my dd's are all cleaned the same way.

Soon as I used one of those "Protectants " on my Suburban's dash , it started to crack and split. Jeeeez!

Yeah i live in Brunei, but i rarely use the Z. She's kept in the garage all the time and rarely even parked outside. Probably a few times when i was cleaning her but that was it. No abusing was done, i baby'd the car and that's the reason why i'm concerned

The interior was treated with Diamondbrite's interior detailing stuff in her earlier life, and i wipe them clean with warm towel after every cleaning session.

I don't like a shiny dash so I use distilled or deionized water and a lint-free cloth. If I run into something that water won't take off, I'll spray a very small amount of low-gloss protectant on my cloth, clean the whole dash to prevent color variations, then wipe off as much as I can with a clean cloth.
If someone else is cleaning the car, I tell them not to use ArmorAll-type products at all - "If it's not paint, glass, or chrome, I don't want it shiny."

I've heard a lot of horror stories similar to TexasChuck's - dash gets worse after using a protectant on a less-that-perfect dash. If you want to use protectants, start using them before the dash shows any signs of aging.

Dam that sucks. My dash just melts when it sits outside in the Texas heat. No cracking yet!

I don't put anything on my dashes. Just a wet cloth. The supposed protectants will trap heat and the dash gets hotter than with nothing applied.

My car is nearly 6 years and i am also having this problem at the exact same locations on the dash. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any solution

So it's confirmed that my Z is not the only one with this problem.. Well the only way to fix this is to refinish the dash
