hey guys I have a question. If our 370z's shift button presses down to work, can't we just put any MoMo's shift knob that has no button because then that

If our 370z's shift button presses down to work, can't we just put any MoMo's shift knob that has no button because then that button will be always pressed and we will be just changing P to D without pressing the button. ??? can this work???
